Henhouse Saison was presented in a 22oz. bottle. It pours a light yellow color with an ample white head. Consistent bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass. The smell has notes of lemon, grass, and coriander.
The taste is has a peppery note as well as the three notes that come through in the aroma. Mouthfeel is light and crisp at the finish.
This is a great summertime sipping beer. Try it if you find it. Thanks to my friends Dave and Jane for bringing it from California.

L: Clear bright glowing golden color, lots of carbonation, one finger breath of head.
S: Very fragrant yeasty scent almost floral
T: Very light, dry and refreshing. Initially a crisp refreshing sweet lemony floral start then a delayed explosion of spice flavors. Freshly ground pepper, thyme, oregano, bay leaves, and coriander.
F: Very light bodied
O: A beautifully executed Belgian Saison. Very beautiful and refreshing. It really does quench your thirst! I would love to pair it with food next time!

Canned 11-25-19. Consumed 12-21-19. Very light. The black pepper finish is interesting.

In reading thru these 10 reviews, I detect a change in the recipe around 2014. But that is good by me, because I enjoyed this Saison very much.
While the hops might overpower some milder foods, I found it paired well with a wide variety of appetizers and a burrito.
This Saison Looks better than average, a clear golden and OK foam. Smells indicate the yeast is working on the malt and offer other spices such as clove. Tastes add a nice pepper and, as indicated earlier, enough hops. The Feel is bubbly/cleansing and finishes dry.
I picked up a four-pack at their Petaluma taproom/shop and barrel house. HenHouse seems quite dedicated to their craft; inspired, I imagine, by the excellent culinary cultures in their valley. I hope to visit them again soon as HenHouse seems unique. Big OA Hugs.

pours a beautiful clear gold color with carbonation for days. Lots of spices on the nose, clove, coriander, pepper, some slight fruity esters. These spices make for fireworks on the palate and the mouthfeel is light, crisp and refreshes the palate. Proper quick acidity on the finish. A great representation of this timeless style.
