I don’t drink much beer, so for me to have a 2nd glass of anything, it has to be amazing. Saddlebock’s Dirty Blond is just that, it is everything one can love about beer all in one glass.
I made a trip out to the Saddlebock tasting room near Fayetteville, AR, where I am a student (GO HOGS!!). It was part of a group outing so I wasn't to sure I would find anything to drink, as I am not a big beer drinker. The bartender was really nice and suggested I try the Dirty Blonde. I have since added the SB Dirty Blonde to my short, but growing list of beers I DO DRINK!
Nice gold color with a nice foam on top, so the aroma was really nice. I don't have many beers to compare it to but this one is really good and was worth the trip.

Pours a hazy, maize color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, slight alcohol, hint of hops, slight yeast, and slight resin. Fits the style of a Kolsch. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, slight alcohol, slight resin, hint of earthiness, and a hint of hops. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

I live 30 miles from the brewery. I wasn't impressed paying $5-$6 for a 16oz bottle that tastes like it's brewed in a basement.
Appearance-Golden Straw and very cloudy. Kinda murky for a dirty blonde and a small white head that is gone faster than cheap light beer.
Smell-doesn't smell like beer
Taste-tastes like something went wrong. Tastes more like a tangy lemon tart ale vs a dirty blonde. Real grainy and the taste lingers in a bad kinda way.

Gold with a decent head for the style. Smells like foot sweat and golden malt. Tastes surprisingly (and alarmingly) tart and acidic. Lots of tart lemon. The fact that this is very similar to a wild ale and nothing like a kolsch leads me to believe that something went very wrong with this beer. Because it's not skunky or gives off flavors associated with being overly light stricken I'm assuming it's a quality control issue and that somewhere bacteria jumped into the batch. I'm 0 for 2 or Arkansas beers.

Pours a slightly chill-hazed gold/bronze with 2+ fingers of pearl white head. Decent head retention & lacing
S: Pears, grassyness
T: Follows the nose, slight sweet grainyness. Some pears, hay & white grapes as this warms. Finishes with a little pear, sweet grainyness & a touch of lemon Finishes fairly crisp
MF: Slightly overcarbonated, medium bodied. Well balanced for the style
I wish I knew how old this was, no discernable dating I can see. Close to the style, easy enough to drink. This beer could be a year round seller for these guys with a few tweaks
