Talk about a tale of two visits! The first time I went I found the selection to be serviceable for a small town bottle shop. Convincing people in our area that craft beers are a worthwhile pursuit can be tough, so the mere fact that the ever opened in the first place should be commended. I grabbed a mix-6 and went on my way.
Fast forward two months, and while the atmosphere of the store has remained the same, the shelves have more than tripled in quantity, quality, and diversity of products offered. They lean towards the American craft beers, and have taken an exponential step forward in their commitment to being an outstanding bottle shop! Once I got my bearings and poured over the new offerings, I scooped up a case or so of different beers and made a vow to come back more often!
I will also echo the sentiments of the other reviews regarding the glassware, numbered flights, and casks offerings. Eastern NC doesn't have a whole lot like this, and I hope these guys have a long and bright future.

I've been a member of "The Beer Army" for some time now and finally had a day off to travel the 3 hours over to the outpost in New Bern to check it out. A little hard to find, it is in a strip mall next to a fireplace store. Make sure you have the address. Very unassuming place but walked in and was pleasantly surprised. On the left is a wrap around bar with 11 taps. If you check their website you will find the current offerings. Nice representation of different styles from Rasputin Stout to a nice Belgium Ale. Proper glassware is a good thing, imho. The flight of 4 was $6 with the glasses being larger than normal. Also, the beers you select are numbered by tap on the wall and this is written on the flight holder in front of the glasses in case you try several of the same look or variety. Seems common sense to me but few places do this. There are several tables with 2 dart boards. No food but saw a pizza delivered to some guys playing darts so thats good. Good classic rock in the background. Very laid back atmosphere. The beer selection was representative with a leaning towards American Craft but decent from all over the world. Nice place to hang out for a few hours, try some different brews on tap and buy some to take home. These guys are serious about their beer and the ones on the shelves say this leaving a distinct impression that the owners sell stuff they have tried and like not just whatever the distributors have in stock. They are planning a brewery in the near future. If I lived nearer to New Bern I would be a regular in this place. BTW, due to its proximity to a Marine Base you will see a number of Marines in there. Thank them for their service when you do.

Lets hear a big hurray for proper glassware. I really enjoyed my visit to the outpost, it is nice to be able to have a beer while you are cruising the aisles deciding what you want to take home. I was pleased to see that they had a cask offering, I was told that it might be a little warm but it was perfect. Of course the downside is when you get a beer and then another your purchases start to multiply I was there about 40 minutes and spent 40 bucks of course I went home with some tasty fine brews.
The bottle selection is not as large as say Bottle Revolution or Bestway but their on tap selection is far better. I believe that once the place finds its legs the inventory will improve greatly. If you are in New Bern be sure to check this place out
