Wow this was good very reminiscent of Of Sam Adams Porch rocker and just as Drinkable! Subtle lemon sweetness slight tart with a crisp wheat body and mild grain. Could be sipped on or shotgun no problems. Just a simple and approachable Lemon Shandy I would get again at a fair price

An awesome shandy. Might not be as “lemony” as some shandy drinkers like but this perfect for me. It’s like a Hoegaarden w two lemon wedges squeezed into it.

This shandy gaff is a prime example of a beer being better than the sum of its parts. During the dog days of summer, Shandies are very popular because they are low in alcohol and quite refreshing. That's why the Germans hand them out at bicycle races. Susquehanna's Shady Spot is among the best of these. Though its nose is redolent of lemonade, it's actually a nice mix of malt, grain and lemonade. The judges at the World Beer Cup apparently agreed and awarded it a gold medal, though how much better it is than Porch Rocker or a good German Radler is tough to say. At just 4.5% alcohol, though, you can drink a number of these without falling off your porch rocker after a hot day of yard work.

Susquehanna Brewing Co. "Shady Spot Lemon Shandy"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle without freshness dating
$2 @ Weis Market, Conshohocken, PA
Look: Hazy yellow gold body beneath a short head of bright white that holds fairly well but leaves only limited lacing.
Smell: Watery lemonade. No real malt to speak of.
Taste: Again, watery lemonade but with some pleasant grainy maltiness. A light acidity balances it, and it finishes surprisingly dry as some residual malt fades steadily away.
Feel: Light-medium in body and gently crisp.
Overall: As far as shandies go it's quite good, avoiding extra sweetness, and delivering an interesting and refreshing alternative to a standard alcohol beer although it's very close at 4.7% ABV.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. NO freshness dating, but I'm going to assume it's this summers release.
Filmy, dull, yellow white coloring. Small white head which quickly dissipates to a ring. very little, if any, carbonation. no lacing.
aroma is only faintly of lemon.
you can just about taste the lemon, but its mixed in with some other subtle flavors which defy description. i like the no carbonation feel though
A tad below medium on the mouth, which is a bit of a surprise, tingly, dry, and a little tart on the finish.
Overall, and it's my first recent experience with shandy/radler style beers, it might just be something i don't care much for. abv isn't given, but I'm guessing you could pound these all day long on a hot summers day and not fall off your lawnmower.

Another brewery I was unsure of but when put up against 19 other breweries they were one of the favorites. Its very fruity while not being overly sweet. I will definitely be carrying them again next year.
