A pleasant surprise here, great blended sour. Superb balance and really pleasant and complex flavor. Feel is spot on. Definitely puts Tahoe mountain on my radar

Beautiful golden liquid with a feint and fleeting head. Nose has notes of nectarine and tangerine as well as some tannic notes and a soft vanilla hit that comes on as it warms.
Taste has some.of that puckering sour but its balanced out by some.vanilla and doughy notes. There are also some of those same citrus and light stone fruit notes as well.
Wonderful body that brings a full mouth feel while staying crisp and light

Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip. Bottle has no date on it.

Appearance: rich golden hue with a nearly crystal-clear body and plenty of apparent effervescence. Head is a thin layer of frothy ivory foam; quite attractive.

Smell: lightly tart with a nice sweetness, a little bit of funk, and even a little bit of phenolic character. Not so much of the latter as to come across medicinal -- there's just enough to add a little interesting complexity.

Taste: a bit tarter than the aroma would suggest, there's a pretty mild funk also present along with some grassy elements reminiscent of springtime. I feel like it doesn't have a ton of complexity in the flavor, but it's still nice.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this is a very refreshing quaff. The sourness isn't too much, although the other flavors of the beer could do more to stand up to it.

this is a special beer, absolutely incredible, and while almost all of the tahou mountain wild beers have been exceptional, this might take the cake. if i close my eyes and take it in with my senses, i believe it to be authentic belgian lambic. its cool they made it in the traditional method, blending golden wild beers of one, two, and three years in age, gueuze type beer, made right here in the states, and it comes through ridiculously authentic, with a grassy iodine oaky funk, white wine and farm, light white wheat and even aged hops to it, just tremendous really. this could be made by one of the famous producers, seriously. tons of oak to this but the beer is very light itself, and the yeast profile is really great, traditional, and complex. a bacterial pucker but equally funky, tannic, sharp, clean, weird, woody, and expertly blended. the young lambic really stands out in here, and the especially mature parts add a ton of depth to this, lightly medicinal and vinous, very well carbonated too and without any unnecessary grain weight. the complexity and quality and authentic belgian recall here are all impressive to the max, tahou mountain is doing some great wild beer, and this is supreme i reckon. seriously some of the better beer in this style i have had from anyone outside of belgium. a standout in a very strong christmas lineup!

This was much much better than I expected. Smells like a gueuze. Tastes like a gueuze. Barrel smoothes it out, but you can taste the alcohol bite relative to a standard gueuze. A bit like the Mariage Parfait in that regard, but Evolution of the Barrel is actually more balanced.
