Look: an bed pour with light 1/8 inch head poured into a 13 oz sniffer.
Smell: a strong smell of spices, a strong smell of cinnamon and nutmeg. A real festival smell to it that reminds me of thanksgiving.
Taste: cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkins pie flavor.
Mouth feel: very light and drinkable.
Overall: a pretty good seasonal beer that tastes like sweet potatoes or a strong pumpkin pie taste. I can drink a couple but don't know if in will buy a six pack again.

Look- Decent. I'm drinking it from the can, so I'm only going by artwork here.

Smell- Not good...just, not good.

Taste- Actually really nice! It's too bad this doesn't smell like it tastes. All the typical spices you would expect from this type of seasonal brew. I really like that the spices toe the line of strong/too much without going over, that's where I like my flavor.

Feel- Highly carbonated, works well for this beer.

Overall- This is a pretty good seasonal beer that I'll probably get again next year to share that Thanksgiving.

12oz can, sample from brewery.

Minimal lacing, hazed amber. Mild spicing with some yamma and toasted malt in the nose and on the palate. Very light hopping, hint of alcohol. A decent sip, nothing really jumps out. Good balance from the spicing.

This beer pours a very deep amber with a moderate head. The aroma leads with a fairly light brown sugar scent, as well as molasses, yams, bell pepper, other vegetal notes, and some clove as well. The flavor is subtle but pleasant, with the tuber flavor of the yam really coming though. The typical spices are muted but present, with clove and cinnamon leading the way. The mouthfeel is a bit on the sticky side. Overall I like this a lot more than pumpkin beer for fall themed novelties. The flavor of the yams really works in this beer.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 1/13/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and yam/spice notes with solid strength. Taste of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance, complexity, and solid robustness of dark/bready malt and yam/spice flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good spiced amber ale style. All around good balance, complexity, and solid robustness of dark/bready malt and yam/spice flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a clear red color, with a large cloudy head.

The smell is dominated by cloves, and what I can best describe as pumpkin pie. Quite weird. Not bad though.

Taste is modest, but similar to the smell. Initially there's quite a bit of 'pumpkin pie', with some spices coming through in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light, yet quite dry.

This is an odd beer. I say try it though.

interesting brew here from indeed, one of the more forward thinking minnesota breweries in my experience. this is done with yams instead of pumpkins, and has a totally different vibe than the usual fall offering. its got a way different spice profile for one, and is not sweet in the least, sorting of turning convention on its head. i thought for a moment this may have been poured from a nitro tap, as the head was creamy white. and the body was clear, with no visible carbonation there at all. it feels like that too, smooth and rich, but would really a tickle of carbonation and some thinness for a second before a righteously dry finish. uncommon to say the least. i have to imagine a lot of the flavor of the yams has been fermented out, or that they just arent that flavorful, its pretty mild on that front. the spices used dont seem to be the usual, although maybe i get a touch of cinnamon in here, its not all full of clove and allspice, and does not taste like a slice of pie. nice grain flavor too, although a little more structure wouldnt hurt it. its caramely without being sweet, and has a fresh baked warming element to it. enjoyable and highly quaffable brew from the indeed crew.
