12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Good looking head, mild haze in the deep amber hue. Smells of caramel covered hop cones, fallen apple, toasted bread, and a bit of orange pith. Very sturdy malt backbone gives the hops a lot to take on, a big dose of bitterness is there to balance but the flavor clearly says IPA. Right from the 1st sip this has all of the speak of a no-coast IPA. Old school in a way, balance and drinkability are key but there is no sacrificing either the malt or hops here. Great drinking.

A delicious American IPA with a dark copper color and two fingers of foamy head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Smells of orange peels. Deep grapefruit citrus notes followed by a malty backbone. Finishes bitter making you want another swallow.

If you like Careless Whisper from Our Brewing Company (Holland, MI) or Crooked Tree from Dark Horse (Marshall, MI), this one is for you!!! Of all the beers I was able to try in the Upper Peninsula, this one is my absolute favorite!!! It has a great hop/floral bouquet on the front end and a fantastic malt finish! Next time I'm in Marquette, there's no doubt where I'm going for beer and which one it will be!!!!

Hazy, and unfiltered. Frothy off-white head settled quickly. Clean nose with a hint of lemony/citrus note. Has a bitter presence on the aroma side as well. Solid malt presence. Overpowers the hops, though there is an overall sense of balance. Slight grassy hop finish at least st the start of the glass. Average mouthfeel , would prefer a bit of a crisper finish in this one. No date on bottle. Not sure if this was the freshest bottle.... but I won't harp on that! I really enjoyed the play on the English style here.

Dark Amber color, darker than most Midwest IPAs. Heavy malts on the nose, not a floral or piney as most of this style. Excellent IPA flavor manages to fight thru the strong malt backbone. Finishes with slight malt aftertaste. This one seems to be an old ale and IPA hybrid. Interesting take on the style. Bought a sixer from the brewery to go for additional analysis.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Good appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthines on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice compelxity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors lingering after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/creamy/bready, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn good IPA! All around great compelxity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
