Random bottle left by a Michigan cousin, a pleasant surprise from a brewery that's a complete unknown here in Chicago

Had this Saison poured into a fluted pint glass off the Taproom tap. Board states its brewed with a French malt, house Saison yeast and single Crystal hop.

A- Wild flower honey gold with a light haze. A thin one finger arctic snow white head that settles to a sticky lacing with a light sea of popping foam.

S- Belgian yeast, lemon citrus, cantaloupe and clover

T- Big up front of Belgian yeast, apricot, peach, lemon zest. A pungent aromatic, with a nice dry bubble gum like finish.

O- A well balanced example of a style that has a propensity to lead to a cloying palate when poorly made. I will give this beer a 80's movie slow clap that leads to a roar of appreciation. Bravo once again Ore Dock.

Bottle, no discernible date:
Nice straw-yellow color, fairly cloudy, with loads of head. Given a little time the head ends up a lovely fluffy white, pillow ing the edges and icing the surface. Nose is sweet Belgian, fruity with apple juice, banana, some herbal notes.

Taste follows the nose pretty well. The herbal notes come out a bit more in the taste, so the fruit-dry balance is better than expected from the nose. The carbonation plays too much early, but fades a tad with some time in the glass.

An enjoyable saison for me, the fruit a tad more than I've had in some versions, but not betraying the style. A tad less action on the tongue from carbonation would work even more, but I'm getting a bit picky.
