Review: Bottle of Club Colombia pale lager, 4.7% ABV

I have to say was very pleasantly surprised with this lager. Wasn’t expecting a whole lot from a Colombian beer, but it was a lovely tasting beer with a nice looking body that was enjoyable to drink.

The beer pours a lovely clear gold body, with a decent frothy head that lasts. There was little lacing. The smell is not strong or unpleasant, a little sweet and corn like.

The taste was of sweet toasted malts with no real aftertaste.

A light tasting beer that did the business on a hot day. Recommended.

I spent ten days in Medellin, Colombia and this was the most widely available beer. It is an average tasting, with very little bitterness, with a blunt aftertaste. It pours medium yellow, had a light head, and had a consistent formation. It had a light malty taste, with hints of metal, citric, and cereals. it was easy to put back, but it left me feeling bloated...

Easily procured in and around Medellin, Colombia, never found it in the United States.

A: Good for an AAL, top of the head is creamy, underneath is larger bubbles holding the head up, moderate to lots of risign carbonation, light gold, transparent.
S: Mild grass, mild but nice.
T: Quite watery, but easy to drink. Like watered down beer, but the flavor resembles more Reinheitsgebot pilsners than AAL's besides the water factor.
M: Very mild carbonation.
O: Pretty good for an AAL. Boring, but that's not a bad thing.

The second beer from South America i review. I found at a local bar. Regarding the study of this beer:

A: Blond color, small head of foam, manny bubbles aren't seen as commonly seen in this style;

S: I consider it stale but "nice", some essences of roots, wood and earth hops;

T: Rough, fresh malt with earth hops, taste like over cooked vegetables;

M: Bittersweet, acceptable gasification and light body;

D: I liked a lot with spicy wings.

This is almost exactly the same as the Aguila, but maybe a little darker.

Pours a pale yellow, bubbly, not much head.

I really taste the corn mash in this one. This seems to be another attempt at getting Corona-like results but a little darker.

This is another one that I would pass up. If it were the only beer around and I was really thirsty, I could get this down. It's not disgusting, I'd rather just have a beer that satisfies.

Pale yellow, slightly hazy. Average white foam.
In the smell hop, dryness, unripe fruit.
Dry taste, but lightly oily and slippery in front. Lemon scent.
Quite dry, with notes of hop, and again strong lemon scent in the aftertaste too.
Well, just a bit better than the expectation, but...
