Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine May 2007.

Translation: "Eagle Beer." Their marketing is heavy on eagles and girls in bikinis--"Eagle Girls" in this case. We can't say this too many times: The proof is in the bottle. Imported into the US by Latam Imports, Fort Worth, TX.

Pours with a frenzy of carbonation and a thick, big-bubbled head with decent retention. Perfect clarity with a dusty yellow straw color. Faint aroma of cooked cereal and yellow grits, with an undertone of lemon and flowers. Spot-on crispness, very refreshing from the start. Light-bodied and smooth. Cooked gritty grain comes off as slightly astringent. Watery lemon peel, grain husk and a dull bite of hop bitterness in the middle. A bit more of that astringent character comes in the finish, but fades for the most part, leaving a clean aftertaste.

In comparison to the many pale Lagers that come from south of the border, this one isn't half bad. If they cleaned up the astringency a bit and stepped up the malt half a notch, this would be a really good Lager. An ideal pairing for this beer would be bandeja montañera, which consists of a fried egg, grilled steak, fried pork back, rice, beans, salad and sliced avocado.

Pours clear, light straw in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is watery straw and grain, with light toasted malt. Average, clean, sessionable adjunct lager. Nothing style changing, but certainly drinkable.

Poured a pale golden colour, a 1/2 inch head that quickly receded to a ring. Scattered visible carbonation. Looks like a lager.

Nose is mild: a bit of sugar, honey, flowers, light hops.

Tastes like a slightly better-than-average south American mass lager. Nothing offensive, but nothing of interest either. Flowers, honey, a lemony finish. A strong cereal taste - almost like regular Cheerios. I can drink it, but that's about it. Could have used a stronger hop presence to counteract the sweet, cereal quality. And by stronger hop presence, I mean ANY hop presence.

Thin bodied, but adequate carbonation.

A resounding "meh", although I can't say I was surprised. Cheap, easy to drink, boring. Your typical tropical-climate thirst quencher.

The only thing this beer did for me was add another country to my all-time list.

Clear medium gold, lots of tiny upcharging bubbles. Head groups in large bubbles, looks like a 1/4 inch cloud. Odd lace, random patches. Antiseptic aroma, slightly medicinal, fleeting. Light bodied and too carbonated. Flavor is vaguely nutty but canvas creeps into the malt and there's a marked fade in profile pretty dang quickly. Nothing other than the vaguest nod to hops at the close, sugar and cardboard define the aftertaste. Slightly more malty than some macros, but nothing of any real note other than another Lager from a South American country.

(Served in a strange)
A- The crystal clear body has a light hue of golden color with a strong carbonation of big bubbles and a bubbly snow white head that last for the full beer.
S- This beer has a noble hop green note with a hone malt aroma to follow and a slight sulfur note coming through as the beer warms.
T- This beer has light sweetness to the honey malt hint then a green hop hint that takes on a green apple tartness and a light sweet, sulfury note in the finish. As the beer warms there is a field corn hint that comes through.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with no alcohol heat and a scrubbing bubble fizz note.
D- This beer is light but has a good depth and a nice balance of hops and malt with just enough sweetness to give it a freshness and enough sulfur to dry it out.

Another pale lager finding its way into the LCBO. Pours light yellow with a crown of white. Neutral aroma,a bit of horse, a bit of malt. Initial swallow is malty, middling mouthfeel. Very undrinkable, a little minerally. Uninteresting.Carbonation a bit aggressive.

A rough pour brings up a frothy head of bright white foam over a crystal-clear straw-gold body that reveals hundreds of tiny bubbles rising steadily upwards. The head drops shortly to a creamy collar and partial, cottony, surface covering; but it does leave some sticky, splotchy and spotty lace. The nose reveals a mild, lightly sweet and delicately grainy maltiness and some nice, floral hops. The body is light and its fine, standard carbonation leaves it crisp in the mouth. The flavor echoes the nose with a well-balanced combination of delicate malt and fair hops backed by a surprisingly noticeable but delicate bitterness. It finishes short and dry. Quite refreshing but somewhat light in overall character.

Como estas...mi amigos! Salutations from Cartagena, Colombia. Aguila....La Cerveza de Colombia! Since 1913! Si, Si, this is a typical cerveza, much like Corona, Sol, Tecate, Brahma, etc. It is pale yellow, with minimal white head that doesn't lace. Smell....none. Taste...like I said, get yourself a corona, etc. The taste does hang on the pallete and you will begin to taste the yeast, like your chewing on bread. The mouthfeel is fine and since the taste doesnt bother me all that much, I could drink the sh&t out of it. Hey its better than the water down here....there are plenty of hot chicks to look at, stop complaining and start fiestaing!

Well there's a little lacing, other than that its a typical pale straw yellow. It smells like a mix of corn and cheap chardonnay and tastes a little sweeter. The flavor is quite low and I'd call this a light lager considering the low alcohol and taste.

I guess this beer goes to show Columbia can make a fizzy lager with the best of them. Kudos to you.

First time I've seen a Columbian beer up these parts so why not give it a try, though, cal me cras but my judgment is pretty much a forgone conclusion.

Pours a clear light honey with a two finger white head. Low retention.

Hints of Green apple and pear mingle with subdued pale malt and grain scents. I detected a scant buttery note. The beer is very effervescent.

Not too much going on in the taste department. Watery grain flavours and pale melt struggle to make an impact on my taste buds. Light hop bitterness provides some excitement. A fairly high carbonation rounds out the drink.

Another bland adjunct lager. Regardless I could see this being quite refreshing on a sweltering Columbian day when you don't want much more then water.

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a very pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Hardly no carbonation. Smell is of corn and malts. Taste is like the smell, corn with a touch of malts, slightly sweet. Feels light in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a mediocre offering.

A: Yellow leaning pale, small white head falls fast to a ring, multiple streams of bubbles. The ring stays with a few skim patches, but no lace.

S: General light lager (macro-ish) nose. Some fruity esters, some grain, perhaps some floral & softly herbal hops. Okay strength. About as expected, not bad but a bit bland.

T: Quite macro like. Grain & adjunct in both flavor and sweetness. But not really all that much of any of anything. And that lets a bit of herbal / hay hops show with mild bittering. Basic lawnmower / quencher taste.

M: Under medium body with over-matched yet softly expansive carbonation. Refreshing & a bit crisp from CO2. Some drying way late in the finish.

D: It is funny that they make a light version of it as this original is already so light itself. They appear to sell bunches of it, so . . . I guess it is proof that the mass appeal lawnmower thing works in Colombia too.

Bottle: Poured a super light yellow color lager with a tiny bubbly head with not much retention and no lacing. Aroma of light adjunct is quite bland. Taste is incredibly bland with light ginger ale feel and almost no malt. Body is incredibly thin with almost no body and medium carbonation.
