Great biscuity caramel malt presence in this one. Balances out the bitter/citrusy/spice notes from the hops. The alcohol is well hidden with a low carbonated almost slick mouth feel but dries up just enough at the end (not neipa slick but better). The nose is a nice blend of fruity and malty; malty/hearty peasant loaf with grapefruit slices subdued in syrup. Hops reminiscent of that classic pale ale from Sierra Nevada. Reminds me of a traditional English IPA with American hops and a tad more aggressive hop scheduling and ABV. Very drinkable and scarily sessionable. I’ll certainly add this to my favorite IPA’s. I’m not easily impressed with IPA’s either.

Hop Bottom pours a copper color, with a nice head. Bigger aroma, hops and lots of earth. Flavor is hoppy, bitter, and lots of earth as well. Good body and feel. Overall, a stronger IPA, bitter and lots of earth notes.

Draft at the Deer Head Inn, Delaware Water Gap, Pa
Lovely slightly cloudy pour, citrusy smell. Nothing off, good solid head. I actually nursed this during dinner, not drinking most of it until an hour plus had passed. Lovely aftertaste, if you do not like piney aftertaste, you will love this. Very impressive

Poured into shaped grip glass: color is gold, a slight chill haze, head is off white with small bubbles, head presents about 1/2 inch thick, then dissipates to a thin top with good lacing on the glass.
Smell is light citrus hops upfront then some light toasted malt.
Taste is fairly malty with intermingling hop bitterness and citrus flavors; hops are biscuit and toast, light caramel.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation but strong presence on the tongue with sharp, lingering bitter dryness.
Overall a good beer, a touch sweet in flavor but dry in the finish; I'd like to try it fresher and on draft.

on tap at Bar Louie's at the Mohecan Sun casino in Wilkes Barre, PA
Arrives at the table looking damn fine. Clear amber color with generous white head. Leaves excellent lacing.
Aroma is of hops and faintly fruity.
Taste is a good hop/non citrus fruit balance. There is a very faint slightly unpleasant aftertaste though, which does go away quickly.
Feel is solidly medium.
Overall, a decent IPA to have with Bar Louie's Voodoo Pasta dish.

Great IPA, nice grapefruit notes. Bright flavor, not a subdued malty one.
