Dark reddish amber in the tulip. Fair carbonation but not especially sudsy. Some resiny aromas and malty nose.
This does not jump out at you as a Scotch Ale, it is so strong and full of flavors. Some sweet taste right off, and something funky that could be construed as peat. Accompanied by some quite bitter twangs. Like a Back fugue scratched out on a fiddle. Crazily toasted and roasted malt flavors. Not overly sweet, but it has a candy touch and overall seems too raw, too grainy, too strong. A lot of raw-tasting hops and gets quite bitter after a while.
On tap at the brewpub as one of their regular offerings. $8 for a 10 oz glass.
