Well, I will join the party & make it known that I visited Atlas after a group of us went to Delilah's for their Christmas beer tasting. It was refreshing to visit a brewpub that was not dominated by high bar chairs. It was a causal & clean atmosphere. The front of house seemed to be understaffed. I think there was an internet special that was unexpectedly successful. overall the speed of service was acceptable. I tried 3 beers the stout, rye ale, & witbeer. All were unique & well above average; crisp clean & flavorful.

The food menu has a great selection of dished you would not expect at brewpub. I had a ribeye burger with some great toppings and tasty fries. My wife had the bacon mussels & soup of the day. My buddy had a pizza it looked good, but he later admitted he was jealous of my burger.

With the bowling alley attached it would be a nice place for a date, friends get together, or family dinner.

I will definitely visit again for the brews, food & maybe throwing some stones down the lanes.

neat spot, all of the suburbs of chicago looks similar to an outsider, so its hard to really orient where i was when i was here, but its a cozy space. small bar on one side, a dining room set up on the back side, and some visible equipment through a clear wall in the back. festive and nice inside, short of upscale, but it looked and felt good. cool list of beers too, they had more than ten pouring, with a huge range of styles. we enjoyed most of them, and appreciated the creativity across the board. that was their greatest strength. the service was just okay. the dude did not seem busy, but also wasnt real eager or keen to chat with us, was short and dismissive of our questions, and seemed almost annoyed by our enthusiasm. that said, my glass never sat empty real long, and he was never rude or anything, just not real jovial. we did not eat here, but the menu looked as inspired as the beers. a nice place to hole up for an afternoon, especially as the snow flies and the holiday spirit gets cranked up. good beers, worth stopping in, but perhaps a step short of the best i had on my trip to chicago. i would go back for sure though, cleverness is on display all over the food and drink menus...

-Standard bar atmosphere. Clean and comfortable but no charm.
-Pretty sure this was an isolated incident, but personnel was understaffed for the sudden Sunday surge (one bartender, one barback, maybe one server). Bartender seemed flustered at first, but still handled the rush well, and by the end of my visit turned out to be pretty cool and friendly. I'm chalking this up to a bad random incident/managerial issue.
-Good range of beers, all well priced, but the overall quality of these beers was simply ok to pretty good; nothing great or outstanding, nothing bad either. They offer samples, and thus 'flights'. Growlers available.
-Standard bar food- fried stuff, pizza, burgers. I had the poutine, which was alright. I heard some people raving about the pizza, so I'll trust their word and bump up my score.

Good beer, good food, good atmosphere. Atlas is the place to go because it's good and close and accessible, but not the place you go to get a great beer or impress out-of-town visitors.

Place was dead at 9 on a Tuesday. In my opinion, they are a restaurant/bar that happens to sell what they brew, and not a true taphouse. I came here from Half Acre, and the difference was night and day. Only stayed for one beer because I was bored. Didn't even bother to get food

They need to get into the Citra hops. This would push them to the next level

On a Saturday night around Midnight we walked into Atlas during a bar / brewery hopping trip in Chicago. The atmosphere had a 70s vibe with classic looking beer light box signs and mosaic glass behind the counter along with the music playing. The brewing setup was visible through a glass window in the back of the first big room with several 55 gallon oak barrels in the area.

The bar wasn't very busy at that time so we were able to get a menu and drinks quickly with a nice, informative bartender. There were about 10 beers on the menu ranging from a rye-IPA to a 3% sour, to a belgian quad and a brandy barrel aged Beire de Guarde. No food as far as I could tell - but wasn't looking for any.

I personally tried the Sauternes Barrel-Aged T-Rex Hugs, Rookery Rye and a sample of the Monkey Shriek Hibiscus Sour. The Rye IPA was good with a prominent rye flavor and a nice citrus hop aroma and taste but it was a little one demensional. The T-Rex arms was not my thing.. not bad just more harshness from the barrel then I care for. The Sour I enjoyed.

Overall I t was a good stop, but I don't thik I'd go out of my way to visit Atlas again. I hope they refine their recipes and make me change my mind.

Last night was my third or 4th night here since they opened... after my first two times I really didn't go out of my way to grab a beer here (it's been awhile since my last visit)... what they had on tap just never really wow'd me. This time was different, and I'll be looking forward to my next trip. They had an american sour on tap that was phenomenal, brewed with hibiscus and lime peel (probably the second sour I've ever had in a brew pub that I really enjoyed). The milk stout aged in rye koval barrels was quite good, and my friends seemed to enjoy their Rye-PA. There were were about 6 other choices on tap as well.

Food menu was mostly: Pizza, Sliders and Tacos... but all with a fancy twist. I enjoyed my beef tacos, but my friend was served a nearly raw lamb slider -so I can't really go any higher than a 3 for that. My previous visits I remember liking the pizza.

Service was ok. It was friday night, they were busy, but not THAT busy... I found myself waiting awhile to be asked for another beer while I've got an empty glass in front of me. And even then it was me grabbing my waiter's attention.

Overall: I'd go back now that they seemed to have stepped up their game in the brew house... I might avoid a weekend, and I'd certainly avoid the lamb sliders.

Rating could be better, will revisit it again in the future; when we were there in October, I pulled up the beer menu on my IPAD at the table, and it showed what was " on tap". Out of 6 of the additional tapped beers , only one was available. Waitress explanation " oh, It isn't updated regularly". Me: " oh, I guess that is really good for out-of-town ers". What a joke.
