Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting. black colour, moderate tan head. Nice malty and roasty aroma, hits of exotic woodwork, mild coffee and chocolate. Roasty and rich flavour with notes of coffee, chocolate and some caramel, balanced by distinct hops. Excellent beer.

Bottle bb Oct 19.
Reddish black, light brown foam.
Nose is intriguing for the style. Very strong aroma that brings to mind dark cherries with a hint of sourness, and dark chocolate in the background. As the beer warms and opens up, it becomes clearer that it is hop derived, a combination of piney and citric that together with the dark chocolate somehow brings dark cherries to mind initially.
Taste has loads of bitter dark chocolate/cocoa, without any sweetness. Long, aggressive bitterness. Malty body, nice carbonation.
Overall not a traditional Baltic Porter even if coming from Poland. The aggressive bittering and aroma from the C-hops makes this really something of Black DIPA. The initial suprise is a positive element but once you figure it out, the beer starts to feel like a bit of a trick. A nice one at that. The hop aroma does fit in, but the more you sip, the more it starts to feel like a run of the mill IPA with some chocolate and roasted notes thrown in. Feels like a 100% calculated move.

Pitch black. One finger of cappuccino colored foam.
Intense smell, toasted, alcohol, caramel, some soy sauce, hop, sugar. Rhubarb, some plums.
In the taste a strong bitterness, resinous hop, and, again, a lot of rhubarb. Then liquorice, bitter roots.
Green nuts, some artichoke. Full and important taste.
Full body.
Long, intense, bitter aftertaste, rhubarb, american hops. Alcohol well managed.
Good.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color porter with a nice large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt notes with nice black chocolate notes is quite enticing. Taste is a mix of light roasted malt notes with some creamy black chocolate notes with a dry finish. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Dry with hints of residual; sugar and enough complexity while staying within the style guideline.

Brown color with red hues and tan head. Aroma is really fruity with cherries and cacao powder notes. Taste follows with slightly astringent fruit notes, something like dried raspberries, cacao, dark chocolate, roasted malt notes, quite bitter on the finish. Medium plus body, really smooth on the palate with soft carbonation. A really well made and tasty imperial porter.

330 mL bottle. Deep brown body. Smells of chocolate, woody, and a light citrus. Tastes of strong roasted malt, nutty malts, chocolate. Some citrus hops that lend a light bitterness. Medium heavy. Just a bit of alcohol. This is really good. Hate to say it, because I don't mean to imply it works with every style, but the generous hop addition adds an extra dimension that elevates this.

Reviewed from notes taken in Summer 2014 in Wroclaw. Cost was 13 zloty per 33cl bottle.
HEAD: 2 figners worth of pale khaki colour head. Nice plump milky consistency. Good creaminess and thickness. Nice even smooth softness. Very good (5+ minute) retention. Even lacing coats the sides of the glass as it recedes.
BODY: Opaque solid (jet) black colour. No yeast or sediment is visible within.
Appears aptly carbonated. It's a good look for a Baltic porter.
AROMA: Dark malts, chocolate malt, cream, roasted barley. Light herbal hop character. A hint of coffee. Doesn't seem too sweet like many American attempts at the style.
I detect no overt yeast, off-notes, or alcohol. I'm looking forward to trying this; it's an inviting aroma.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Raisin. The perfect amount of malty sweetness. Dark malts, schwarz/black malts, cream, hints of roast and coffee, and a kiss of fennel. Pretty well balanced. with average duration, depth, and intensity of flavour. Complex yet cohesive, though it lacks the subtlety and gestalt whole of a build found i the best expressions of the style. Flavours aren't well layered.
Smooth, wet, unrefreshing, full-bodied, and pretty thick. Not syrupy, oily, astringent, harsh, gushed, hot, or boozy. A bit overcarbonated.
Texture suits the taste generally well.
OVERALL: She's a sipper, alright. I like it. A good Polish Baltic porter, but not the best beer in Poland in my opinion (as some have contended). I'd certainly get it again and it's well worth trying, but it isn't Pinta's best beer. Certainly good stuff.
Low B (3.55) / GOOD

Dark ruby pour with a tiny head that goes away quickly. Smells like dark cherries, dark chocolate, raisins and whiskey. The taste is bitter, with notes of dark cherries, sherry, whiskey barrel, dark chocolate. Medium body and a hot and spicy aftertaste. A bit too heavy on the alcohol, but other than that, excellent beer.
