Semi clear, reddish-brown appearance with a small tan head and little lacing. Nose encompassed rich malts, some dark fruits and yeasty esters. Malts continue to dominate in the flavor, which I believe is typical for the style. Toss in some plums, raisins, molasses and brown bread to add depth. Full bodied mouthfeel, moderately carbonated, with a long lasting finish.

On tap:
Pours quite dark, but with little effort can still tell it's a dark brown versus black. Off-white head perseveres as I drink this glass, with receding lacing, only some of which sticks around.
Nose is hard to pick up in my setting, but I get a highly roasted wheat bread impression.
Taste is a mix of dark bread, malty sweetness, and just a little banana. The feel is medium, but soft and almost silly. In certain sips I get a little cola note, though the carbonation is soft.
Enjoyable beer that is malty and soft, definitely worth a revisit.

Cask pour at Churchkey, finished w/ ginger & chocolate. Dunkelweizen doesn't care as well as a cask pour, resulting in a dull pour. Ginger dominates the aroma, softened by a bit of chocolate sweetness. Additives add some flavor, but hard to tell what the underlying brew would taste like. Slick body, ginger lasts through to finish. Don't mess with the Reinheitsgebot.

Dark brown smooth fruity weizenbock. Sweet, malty undertones, with an amazing rich, creamy mouthfeel. Purchased on tab in a growler at the brewery. Awesome.

On tap at Kooper's North...
L: dark chestnut brown, nearly opaque with barely a trace of head running the glass
S: lacking somewhat here; very faint sugars and banana.
T: nice wheaty malt bomb with plenty of bready sweetness and typical banana and clove for this type. Can't go wrong with weizenbocks, one of my fave types.
F: extremely low carbonation and right serving temp (not too cold) make this easy to down.
All in all, nicely done.

I have not had too many weizenbocks, but after this one I need to seek more out. Intense flavor of the wheat was very enjoyable. Very nice beer and unique by style.
