Pours a deep yellow verging on orange. Nice off-white head that lingers briefly before falling to a small ring around the edges.
Nose is right up my alley. Faint hints of caramel malt with a big juicy hop presence. Big, funky fruit yeast esters meld perfectly with tropical, orangy hops. Hints of berry and mint as well.
Flavor is similar. Opens with a juicy hop and yeast interaction. Again, this isn't going to be for every palate but it suits mine perfectly. Lots of yeasty ester character interacting with a citrusy, tropical hop profile that leans slightly toward tart. Just a hint of caramel-leaning malt character to hold everything together.
Mouthfeel: Very dry as expected with the yeast involved. Well-carbed and easy drinking for 8.5%.
Finish is long and dry with tart fruit and citrus lingering around.
Overall: LOVE the profile of the beers that are hopped like IPAs but with a saison/farmhouse yeast. Character tends to be hop and yeast forward with minimal malt intrusion. Totally my style.

So this is a Belgian DIPA which really isn't a category on here.
Smell: light floral, piney, bready. very pleasant, gets you excited to taste it.
Taste: Like fried chicken. Little bit of a let down. Missing some belgian yeast or citrus. Something to make it stand out a bit. Not unpleasant though.
Such a great name for a beer.
