Good, quality English Bitter. I wouldn't be surprised if many of these reviewers are used to drinking 100 IBU, 8% IPA's or something and they just don't get it. I've been to Britain 12 or 15 times and spent a fair amount of time in Yorkshire, I can tell you this is exactly what Bitter is supposed to taste like. Good job fellas.

Attractive coppery color with the modest English-style head. Served in a small nonic, the 10 oz version is styled just like the 16 oz. Nice beery aroma, with enough carbonation for the style.

Pleasant fruity flavor along with some roast malt. Biscuits and a touch of earthiness, but quite clean and tasty. Warm and rairly malty. More hops than the Mild, but has just that perfect bitter twang. Another good take on the English Bitter.

Hugely drinkable and surprising low alcohol content. Pleasant malt flavor mellows the lighter-bodied style. On tap at the brewpub in west Denver.

these guys simply dont get enough credit. they are one of the only operations in town doing cask beer, let alone to this level, and while this may not represent their best work, or even their best beer in the esb style, i still really like it, and think it deserves a little more love. on the engine at falling rock, cool to see these guys always occupying that spot. the pour is amazing, creaming and clear and deep amber in color, looks ancient and regal and special. good clarity, awesome head, sexy and sleek. smells okay too, a little tannic and oddly carbonic for it being a cask beer, sharp for a second, cheap even, and metallic, but then nutty and sweet and earthy and awesome too, so its the best of both worlds here. the taste matches, and although i wish for a little more out of the base malt, what they have done here makes a lot of sense. lighten up the feel, keep the darker color and the weight there, but dont make it too grain flavored. i dig that vibe. some hops here too, as much bitter as flavorful, but sort of silky and they melt into the feel, everything melts into the feel. the warmness, the engine smoothness, its hugging my teeth and my tongue, and i want it to never stop. in terms of flavor, this is not their best, but the feel penetrates me, and i need it, and i already miss it...
