Generous amounts of roasted and black barleys give this Irish ale its coffee-like flavor and deep, roasted finish. It takes 7 different grains to achieve this flavor profile and the brewing of this fella is something akin to rocket science!

Poured a dark purple, not even black. Appears like grape juice to an extent. I just call it like I see it. Little to no head exists and very little aroma, maybe some malts and a very faint essence of coffee. Tastes watery and bland, with a slight burnt aftertaste that might cause a grimace if you're not careful.

The menu stated that this was "not for the faint of heart". I was expecting a strong, hearty stout, which is not what I got. In regards to my personal taste, this was way too weak for me. It tasted like someone had taken a decent stout, and mixed it with about 30% water. Though a decent beer, I wouldn't buy it again.

Sooner stout pours opaque black with a tan head. Has a roasted nut, grainy smell. Medium bodied with very little carbonation. Nice lacing even though the head fades quickly. The dark roasted malt flavor was decent, pretty straight forward stout here.
A 4% abv and good drinkability makes this a nice session brew.
