Appearance: Pours a medium amber-red with a massive, sense and persistent tan head, which persists quite well. An unbroken sheet of lacing cloaks the glass wall. Clouds of fine carbonation drift lazily to the surface.

Aroma: Strong notes of caramel, dark bread, brown sugar and earth present in the aroma. i can detect some restrained herbal hops, but these are a mere aside to the aroma.

Taste: On tasting, dark bread, brown sugar, earth and a little bitter cocoa. Toward the midpoint of the taste, herbal hops are noticeable, whereas they had seems almost spectral in the aroma. These provide a well-balanced counterpoint to the complex malt flavors. Late on, a note of cold coffee, appears, a pleasing contrast to the sweeter flavors in the early part of the taste. The finish offers roasted malt, cold coffee and some pleasing nutty notes.

Mouth feel: Rich and full, with delicate carbonation, it overs a remarkable amount of body.

Drinkability/notes: A strikingly pleasing example of a style I have always associated, properly, or improperly, with autumn. It just seems to go well with cooler weather, this completely absent in Central Texas at present.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard sixteen-ounce aluminum can, served in a la Fin du Monde tulip.

Taste: earth, semi sweet, brown sugar, mellow finish. Bready malty brown sugar nose. Mahogany deep brown hue, clear, with tan foamy head with lace rings around the cup. Medium body. More English Brown in flavor.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into a weizen glass.

Look - Pours a mild brown with a frothy cream colored head. Tames down to a calm topper with mild lacing.

Smell - Toasted nuts. Slightly malty and a bit earthy. Mild and focused.

Taste - The flavor is pretty identical to the smell but more watered down. Simple and to the point.

Feel - Very thin body with little carbonation.

Overall - A bland brown, not much good about it but nothing bad either.

Dark amber, very clear, and medium head that dissipates quickly without lacing. Molasses with malt. Smooth, light finish. A good ale to serve with lighter entrees like ham or red sauce pasta. An ale House ale...part of meal. Not over-bearing. Very typical of brown ale genre. Coals to Newcastle.

Picked up. 4 pak of tallboys at Aldi’s for a song. Note it is listed at 4.9 ABV but mine is 5.5. Popping the top the waft is molasses. Pours to a root beer brown with a huge tan head. Taste is sweet and slightly hoppy but not bitter up front. Stays sweet throughout then finishes flatly bitter and clean. Not overbearing, highly imbibable. It’s a winner.

A crisp brown ale that works with anything. Some people may feel it is non-descript, but I think it executes exactly what the package tells you it will be like. Just smooth enought with that little bit of a bite. I think it has tons of character. Definitely recommend if you like brown ales!

Pours a lighter brown color. White 2 finger head. Retention is good.
Nose really doesn't have much there. Just a slight sweet aroma, but very weak.
Taste - I get a nutty flavor. Some sweetness. No hoppiness.
Feel is average.
Not a bad beer for the style.

This is another great beer being carried by ALDIs. The smell made me fall for it from the very start. It is full bodied and the taste of figs and dates. Enjoying it's blessing right now.
