This is another great beer being carried by ALDIs. The smell made me fall for it from the very start. It is full bodied and the taste of figs and dates. Enjoying it's blessing right now.

Light brown, dark copper. Smell is faint chocolate. Taste is also chocolatey a little tinny but very good. I'd buy this again. Good fall time beer

looks like a brown ale. tastes like a brown ale. nothing about this is going to wow you. it's perhaps a bit thin, but that just makes it go down that much easier.

i've had this in bottles, 12oz cans, and now 16oz cans, and the bigger cans seem to be a bit better than i remember. a little more sweetness to the beer now.

Lost trouts pours a dark brown color with a small lacing head. Aroma is weak but hints of malt and hints of nuts. Taste is lighter, nice crisp malty backbone, with subtle hints of nuts, that finishes a little sweet. Watery body. Overall it s a solid beer, if only it was less watery.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 7/15/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nutty/chocolate/coffee, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a damn nice American brown ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Thanks to GaryMuchow for this one. Poured from 12oz can into 10oz goblet. Poured a clean, clear medium brown color with about 1/3 inch of tan head that had good retention and light lacing.

The aroma had a very notable grain base, with just a light touch of roast, and an interesting tickle of hops in the background. The flavor profile was pretty similar, just amplified. The malts were nicely grainy, with just a touch of sweetness, and the hops added a different earthiness, without conflicting or dominating the malts.

The body was smooth, even, clean, and finished nicely dry, a rarity in the style. Drinkability was great. I could easily knock back a sixer of these, and would order it over the bar often during our typically wet PNW winters. Overall, a really well done example of a style that's being often ignored by a lot of my local/regional breweries. A must try if you see it.

It pours bright brown under a 3” light tan foam collar marks each drink. Rich malt and hop aromas, some light toast, hints of chocolate lead to a hoppy finish. Refreshing and drinkable.
