Drunk from a regular pub glass at a local bar (from the tap).

Simple taste, not a whole lot of substantive flavors. Likewise, the smell was negligible. With that said, it was very light for a brown ale. I could definitely see myself drink this on a warm spring day rather than some semi-decent lager.

Disclaimer: I was battling a cold at the time of drinking the Lost Trout. Perhaps I will try it again sometime in the future, and come away with a better impression.

Look: Dark brown, but still transparent. Creamy bone head with some good retention. Lots of lacing.

Aroma: Sweet, very lightly roasted and caramel malts

Taste: Very similar, but there are some more apparent notes of cocoa or maybe coffee, maybe a little nutty too. Very little bitterness lingers.

Feel: Light but somewhat creamy. Finish isn't that dry.

Overall: A pleasant brown ale, that's relatively flavorful but not overpowering.
