I'm trying this at my bro in law house. It pour3d a nearly opaque dark with thin ercu head that is not leaving much lace. The scent carries sweet plum and musty wine barrel. The taste starts with a dark fruit push then maple presence after draw. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

16oz canned 9/8/17 poured into a perfect pint at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours pitch black with mocha brown head. Retention and lacing are slightly above average. The aroma is maple syrup and black malt. The taste is bitter dark malt and semisweet maple that finishes with a bitter woody note. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and semisweet in the finish. This beer never goes cloying for me but there is definitely maple syrup taste and feel. Overall, pretty good. This is the best sample I've had from 3rd Street. Worth a shot at $7 for 4 16oz cans.

Appearance: Pours a pretty deep black with a nice heavy head of tan suds. A little lace.

Aroma: Sweet sweet maple! Most maple character I’ve ever had in a beer. Seems authentic, too. Points here.

Taste: Plenty of maple syrup here, sweet but with a roasty stout cocoa/coffee malt presence. Seems a bit light in body, but for fans of maple syrup like me, this is one to try. Solid and unique.

Another special at Aldi.

If you like it sweet, then this is your treat. Heavier. Good Fall drink. The maple isn’t very subtle.

Wife likes it.

Appearance: Deep, opaque black body, with a large, dense dark tan head. Scattered, broken lacing adorns the glass walls. The head retention is excellent.

Aroma: Quite distinct notes of fermented maple syrup utterly dominates the aroma, the maple aroma is utterly authentic.

Taste: A wave of fermented maple syrup opens the taste, soon followed by toasted malt. As the taste progresses, the maple intensifies a bit, vying with the roasted malt for supremacy. Interestingly, the relatively high ABV of 6.5% is notable neither in the aroma, nor the taste. Finishes with a long and lingering note o maple syrup and toasted malt.

Mouth feel: Soft and velvety, extremely full, quite gracious.

Drinkability/notes: A superb example, would pair well with chocolate desserts, and it seems perfect for cool Autumn days, so rare in Texas.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard sixteen-ounce aluminum can, served in a Pilsener glass.

Out of 16 oz cans this year.

L-Black..minimal head

S-Roasted malts with a fruity (apples) like note that seems out of place.

T-Nice roasted maltiness....maple is evident but subtle....blends nicely....better as it warms.

F-More of a dry stout feel. At best on the light side of medium. Closer to high side of light bodied. If you drink it cold it feels too thin. As it warms it feels about right for a basic stout.

O-Personally I think they had a bigger maple impression a few years back but this is decent enough. I got an eight pack of sixteen ounce cans and I'll happily drink them all but won't go back for more. Nice enough winter beer from a Minnesota brewery whose beers I don't typically seek out.

I like it, maple not overpowering but a nice accent to the roasty stout

Had on tap at the Bryant Lake Bowl. It pours brilliant chestnut with very little cap. Has a big maple nose. The palate begins sweet and suggests root beer before emerging as maple and alcohol. A hint of smoke. Carbonation is medium and the body is slightly below medium. Much better than I expected.
