Stopped into One Trick Pony from a recommendation from some guys we were talking to at Flossmoor. Very glad I made the trip.

Stormcat pours fairly clear amber with a small beige head. Lots of citrus hoppiness in the nose along with some pine. The owner said it's an all-mosaic hopped beer and it certainly smells the part. Light caramel malts as well.

Very similar flavor. Kind of like a more citrusy Simcoe. Lots of citrus up front light and refreshing with a little bit of pine for a contrast. Called an amber, this one does have some caramel malts to balance the hops. It's definitely a cross between an APA and an amber which is right in my sweet spot.

Light bodied, but not watery. Good carbonation and really didn't think it was quite this high in alcohol. If not for the ABV, I'd say this was a session beer.

Went home with a growler of this to share with other DLD folks. Very nice beer and others I only sampled were as well. Definitely make this stop if you are in the area for FFF.

Pours a clear deep amber color with two fingers of a tan head.

Aroma pops of Mosaic hops. Get sugar-coated grapefruit, tangerine, big herbaceous dankness, pine resin, and pineapple. A sugary sweetness is there to juice up the beer.

Taste starts with overly-ripe pineapple, tangerine, sugar-coated grapefruit, and dankness. Mid-palate brings a bigger sweetness and slight biscuit quality, along with more sweet grapefruit, tangerine, and dankness. Some pine creeps in too. Finish dries out the beer with just a tad bit of residual sweetness. Brings with it pine resin, grapefruit pith, and a big herbaceous dankness.

Medium body. Smooth carbonation with a creamy and silky mouthfeel. Finishes oily from the hop oils.

This has been my favorite amber ale for some time now. It does a great job showing off the fruity, dank qualities of Mosaic hops. The sweet malts complement the hops well. It's balanced, yet hop-forward. OTP flies under the radar, but they make some excellent beers and this is a perfect example of that.
