Started as an experimental Amber testing a new varietal hop just on the market in 2013, hands down here – Mosaic hops give Storm Cat (a stud Thoroughbred who had a 24-hour armed guard for his, talents) a grapefruity essence with a residual sweetness from caramel malts.

Taste: Big complex hops, bitter, some fruit note, malt backbone. Malty bready nose. Copper hue, mostly clear with a tan head, defined ring lattice of lace. Full but not heavy body. 60 IBUs

Pours a clear deep amber color with two fingers of a tan head.
Aroma pops of Mosaic hops. Get sugar-coated grapefruit, tangerine, big herbaceous dankness, pine resin, and pineapple. A sugary sweetness is there to juice up the beer.
Taste starts with overly-ripe pineapple, tangerine, sugar-coated grapefruit, and dankness. Mid-palate brings a bigger sweetness and slight biscuit quality, along with more sweet grapefruit, tangerine, and dankness. Some pine creeps in too. Finish dries out the beer with just a tad bit of residual sweetness. Brings with it pine resin, grapefruit pith, and a big herbaceous dankness.
Medium body. Smooth carbonation with a creamy and silky mouthfeel. Finishes oily from the hop oils.
This has been my favorite amber ale for some time now. It does a great job showing off the fruity, dank qualities of Mosaic hops. The sweet malts complement the hops well. It's balanced, yet hop-forward. OTP flies under the radar, but they make some excellent beers and this is a perfect example of that.
