Had on tap in a pint glass.

Pours pitch black with just a tiny dark tan head. Not really any head retention or lacing but that could be a product of unclean glassware.

The aroma is very chocolatey and roasty with just a few slight hints of smoke. It is more roast than anything.

The flavor changes everything. The smoke just absolutely explodes and I think there are several different smoked malts used in this. As a lover of single malt scotch, there is definitely a prominent peat presence here and I absolutely love it. Medicinal notes combine with some sweeter, milder smoke and dark chocolate and dark fruit to create an awesome flavor. Mouthfeel is a little light but it doesn't detract at all.

Overall, probably the best beer I have had from Turtle Anarchy yet. I love a good smoked beer and this one is awesome. A must-try if you can find it.
