Notes: Geez—not another IPA! That’s right, this is not just another IPA. Consider it a next generation IPA. A slightly sweet, lower ABV, IPA providing welcome relief from the onslaught of bitter hop bombs out there. Its complex aromatic layers, suggest mango, melon, pine and berries, are driven by whole-leaf Mosaic and Citra hops which are then balanced by an acidulated and pilsner malt bill. Finally, its silky smooth mouthfeel will leave you asking for “mo!”

A- 12oz can pours into a small becher with a somewhat hazy golden body and a frothy white cap. The head peaks at about a half finger before falling somewhat quickly to a wide belt at the edges. Sheets of lace form with drizzle around and below them.

S- Honestly a bit faint for the style at this point. General citrus hops with just a hint of tropical fruits, floral hops and pale cracked barley.

T- Opens up immensely in the flavor compared to the aroma as some subtle hop tones come into the balance. Hops give notes of tangerine, grapefruit, dank herbs, melon, mango, orange, pine and flowers. Very slight hints of bread, yeast fruits and cereal grains.

MF- Light-medium overall consistency with a texture that is both foamy and creamy. The carbonation falls on the high side and is rather zesty. Ends with a clean hop bitterness.

A good IPA with much more happening in the flavor versus the aroma. Opens up on the palate with a balance of dank, citrus and tropical hops.

12 oz can bought from Lifesource in Salem OR
Slightly hazed dirty orange coloured ale with a nice sized thick and creamy of white head.
Fine fresh piney/spruce and fruity citrusy hop aromas..a bit of light malts.
Taste is really nice its hoppy and bitter yet still smooth.
Mouth feel is on the lighter side but works fine.
An OK beer ..easy drinker

Darker gold with a mild haze. Decent head which retains bubbles across the top of the liquid throughout the tasting. Excellent web lace on the glass.

Strong citrus hop aroma initially. Subsequent smells bring out some melon and pineapple. I also get light evergreen. In a word, complex. This makes me repeatedly sniff to see what else I can tease out of the beer.

Starts mellow and malty with a slightly sweet, fruity taste. The traverse into bitterness is slow without any extreme flavors--more like a dash of black pepper. The body is neutral with a higher carbonation level. The aftertaste lasts a long time but without assaulting the tongue.

12 oz. Can
Canned On: 06/02/17

Pours a pretty nice hazy dark golden orangy color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some hops, citrusy, very slight pine. The taste is slightly hoppy, some maltyness, citrusy, some pine. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, tasty, wish I had a fresher can though.

Pale amber color, big white head head that is long lasting. Very slight hop haze.

Subtle citrus hop aroma.

Not a huge amount of malt up front, some citrus and pine hop flavors, but overall flavor profile is more like an APA than an IPA to me. Seems a little thin on flavor for an IPA in my view. Tangy citrus hop flavors midmouth, and a slightly tart finish. Not very aggressive with the late bitterness. Very easy drinking for an IPA

Low-med body, med-high carbonation. Carbonation borderline too high in my opinion.

Might do better being labeled as a bigger Pale Ale. Pleasant beer with nice hop flavor, but overall a bit subdued.

12oz can $2.79. Orange color, clear, decent lacing. Aroma has a solid maltiness, hops, faint berries but not the punch I expect from Mosaic. Flavor has a good malt backing, the hops won;t knock you out but it is a solid beer that is easy to drink. Unfortunately it is $14 a six pack so it will not be on my radar going forward.

A: The beer is rather hazy amber yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles coating both the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cantaloupe melons are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of melons along with notes of blackberries. There is a slight amount of bitterness and acidity.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has a very interesting and unique aromas and flavors. It seems a little lighter in body compared to other IPAs and more like an APA.

Can from ABV. #250 for 2016!

A clear copper with a dense off-white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is full of tropical fruit, juicy, rich and fragrant with jackfruit, papaya, a slight smell of crushed pills, a mild caramel malt sweetness, burnt sugar. The palate opens with a lot of hoppy sweetness with the tropical fruit character dominating. Loads of papaya and passionfruit with a little bit of jackfruit, this is like a tropical fruit juice. Malt character is mild, a combination of a mild caramel note and a mild toffee/ burnt sugar flavor and bitterness. Medium light in body and softly carbonated, this feels solid on the palate. Drying and with a strange combination of tropical fruit and bitterness on the finish, this beer is solid.

Malty backbone is mild and the lack of bitterness makes this seem more like an APA than and IPA. Smooth and drinkable, but this is only an average beer IMO.

Overall a tasty IPA that is easy drinking.

12oz can, part of some rather dearly priced new offerings from this brewery to show up around here of late. The name and description here can only remind me of Moe the bartender from the Simpsons.

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden amber colour, with a near-teeming tower of puffy, rocky, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent layered and webbed lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.

It smells of gritty and grainy pale malt, muddled tropical fruit, some hard water flintiness, and a growing sense of leafy, weedy, and resinous piney green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, blood orange and red Texas grapefruit citrus rind, some earthy yeastiness, free-range berry sugar, and more weedy, floral, and wet pinecone verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite tame in its quotidian frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and genuinely smooth, with a nice inborn creaminess there from the veritable get-go. It finishes well off-dry, the malt and mixed fruitiness easily sending us out into the night.

Overall - yeah, this is certainly a pleasant enough version of the style, but hardly the Brave New World as espoused on the label marketing blurb. Oooooh - tropical fruit! And citrusy/piney hops! And a sweet malt backbone! Colour me duly unimpressed and impressed at the same time.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned May 2nd 2017.

Rocky and clingy fistfull off white chunky head right out of the can. Island whipped top, thick rich and big bubbled with a big presence and not even going to budge. Body color is a lighter pale amber, slightly cloudy but with some decent clarity and minimal carbonation. Very nice looking IPA.

Very nice aroma coming down the pipe. Sharp soft herbs with an excellent floral like sweetness, mixes with a nice sugary caramel malt quality. Earth and sweet herbs, orange sharp zest even makes an appearance. Really dig this, almost a sweet dank quality.

Palate takes a different turn. Very light almost session IPA like mouthfeel, with a touch of light hop qualities. A good mix of earth and citrus like qualities but taken down by a quick and fleeting malt presence that washes pretty fast. Minimal aftertaste with a bit of soft herbal qualities. A good diverse mix of hop flavors, earth, citrus, pine and herbs, but with a faint subtlety.

A very unique hop presence, but very much feels like a toned down brew on the palate. Surprising at 6% plus abv as it feels like a weaker brew.

12oz can served in a tulip. Canned on 10/25/16. Courtesy of @mr-jj.

Pours mostly clear amber golden with a medium to large head that fades to medium-small fairly quickly, leaves sheets of lacing along the edge of the glass, and has a lot of visible, active, fine, slow carbonation. Smell is (and I know this is weird) turkey gravy right off the bat. A little more careful sniffing lets me call it dank, vegetal, grassy.

Taste is tropical, a little juicy, definitely some dankness (no gravy), I think passionfruit.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and surprisingly dry. Overall, pretty good (especially if you don't experience the turkey gravy aroma).
