Sampled during the recent Sasquatch fest. Wasn't a big fan of the pils they were pouring, but this stuff was great.

The beer pours a very dark brown color with good head retention and considerable lacing. The nose is quite attractive, as I pick up dark fruits, a hint of prune, chocolate, vanilla and underlying spice. The flavor profile replicated the nose in this fairly sweet dark ale, and mouthfeel is soft and fairly full. Alcohol was well integrated into the flavor profile, though you could tell it was up there a bit. Still, I would not have guess this was a 10% abv. beer if I hadn't been told.

Really an impressive effort from this new to me brewery.

On draught at Bailey's, DoubleCross is mahogeny with a small, big-bubbled off-white collar that leaves

Smell is fruity, dark crued fruits, prune, some rum-raisin. Some gingerbread spice.

Taste is deep dark fruits and malts, yet there is an elgegant litheness to it. Smooth, nice depth.

Mouthfeel is light, digestible. A touch stichy, and drying from the ABV.

Drinkability is very good, this is well executed, smooth and flavorful.

Pours a half finger of head on a cloudy brown body.
The aroma is brown sugar, raisins and figs.
The taste has lots of dark dry fruits, mildly sweet and a latent alcohol heat.
The texture is soft.
It's great and super drinkable.

Hard to understand the kinda low reviews. This is a unique take on a Belgian with a raisin/prune dark fruit flavor up front and a ratcheted down yeast presence. In other words great flavor without being overwhelmed by yeastiness.

For 11% ABV it's insanely drinkable. Fruity and still refreshing. Rich toffee head that is long lasting. One of the best strong (dark) ales, of any persuasion, that I've had.

on-tap @ baileys

Opted for the 10oz pour, rather than the offered 20oz pour (yikes). Served in a mini-nonic. Dark mahogany body - aromas of dark fruit, wood, booze. A nice radiating sweetness, rich chocolate malts. First offering from Crux was a pretty impressive BSDA
