On-draught @ the (very difficult to find) brewery.
Currently #13 on the top Texan beers list.
Silky smooth and soft on the palate, but I'm not keen on the whoppers/malted milk ball flavour at its core. A bit roasty. Cola. Black bread. Hints of marshmallow. Lactose sugar sweetness is evident. Feels under attenuated even for a milk stout.
I can't say I love it. The fudgy sweetness just throws it too out of balance for me.
Maybe a chocolatey beer in Houston in May wasn't a great idea.

Pours a pitch black with a thin brown head that retreats to a ring around the glass quite quickly.
Dominant coffee aroma with notes of chocolate and a hint of vanilla.
Coffee and chocolate taste are most noticeable with vanilla and coconut on the mid palate. Hints of cinnamon in the finish. I can't get much of the chipotle though, it is not spicy at all.
The different tastes come nicely together and no overbearing spiciness, I appreciate that.

A very complex and pleasurable beer. Many flavors come into play. Starts with strong dark chocolate and mocha flavors, goes to coconut and dark berries, warm German chocolate cake, vanilla and chili peppers and some cinnamon. Smooth, rich feel. Highly recommended!

Appearance: Arrives espresso colored with a one finger mocha head; good retention and some splashy lacing
Smell: Chocolate and coffee, with hints of chili pepper, coconut and vanilla
Taste: Dark chocolate forward with coffee building; hints of chili pepper, vanilla and coconut emerge; the finish is surprisingly dry for a milk stout
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; creamy with moderate carbonation
Overall: This is a nice integration of the adjuncts - not too sweet and not too hot but the flavors are all detectable
