An American pale ale brewed with Cascade hops and hop-backed with Citra. A real refresher with a spicy, citrus aroma and a slightly nutty malt flavor.

just not that great, it a regular beer just a hair above commercial grade, as a beer snob I just need more these days.

Purchased at Wegman's Purdue, homecoming weekend.
LOOK: Mt. Nittany pours a clear gold with a red hue and a slightly off white head.
AROMA: Floral hops, pine nuts, some toasty bread.
TASTE: Roasted malts, mix of earthy and grapefruit citrus hops that are well balanced.
That was and is a very good beer. Otto's is producing some solid brews.

Pretty standard pale ale, certainly lands more on the hoppy side of the spectrum, hops are grassy and earthy, there is some pepper spice in there too, reminiscent of SNPA

Otto's Pub and Brewery "Mt. Nittany Pale Ale"
22 fl. oz. brown glass bottle without freshness dating
$2.61 @ Pletcher's Beer Distributor, State College, PA
Look: Mostly clear amber body beneath a finger-thick head of frothy off-white that holds well and leaves some very nice lacing behind.
Smell: Floral and lightly citrusy. Clean. Moderate malt component.
Taste: Clean. Lightly caramelish malt is sweetish and accented by yeasty fruitiness (apple) and floral and lightly spicy and citrusy hops. Median bitterness. Its semi-dry finish leaves spicy and earthy hop notes lingering.
Feel: Medium-light in body and gently crisp.
Overall: Well brewed and nicely balanced basic American pale ale.

This has a fairly rad taste, but the divide between the good taste and the awful mouthfeel is beyond the biggest I've seen. Five minutes after pouring it, it feels completely flat. This taste's like an excellent beer that's been opened 12 hours earlier.
I feel a little bit uneasy about submitting this as the mouthfeel was so 100% bad that I suspect that it might be a tap-issue. If that's the case, I apologize to Otto's Pub as this would probably be an excellent beer. I'll undoubtedly try it again if I see it to make sure.

Poured into a small glass: color is copper, head is light tan with some lacing.
Smell is light citrus, then toasted malt, then grassy hops.
Taste is muted with a moderate toast backbone with moderate grassy hops.
Mouthfeel is a bit sharp on the tongue with an odd carbonation/metallic combo presence.
Overall, an easy drinking pale ale with some flavor components that are off putting to me.

O- decent beer. otto's has some ok beer but i have had much better and haven't been pleased with a lot of their stuff but this is good.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. It pours a dark straw color with a one-finger, ecru-colored head and lacing that didn't dissipate throughout the pour. It smells of pine needles, nuts, citrus, and a whiff of caramel. The taste follows the nose with a lot of lemon peel and pine up front and a subtle sweet caramel at the finish. This ale is medium-bodied, moderately carbonated, and with a low ABV of 4.7% it is very easy to drink.
