Appearance: Amber copper glass shows good clarity and a constant stream of tiny bubbles that feed a creamy complete cover of foam that leaves thick lace.

Aroma: Faintly musty, lightly sweet, cracker malt and a light funkiness.

Taste: Slightly sour wet grain with a earthy tonic bitterness in the finish. Tastes like a Belgian Pale Ale in the earthy note, lots of toasted grain that goes a bit astringent with a tannin pucker.

Mouthfeel: Dry finish, medium body with a creamy texture to the tiny bubbles. Manages to hit that sweet spot where the bubbles keep it airy without getting fizzy.

Overall: Not my favorite style of beer, but a good example of what it's supposed to taste like. Mild enough that I don't have any trouble enjoying what's here. Hides the abv very well, no flaws, just clean good beer. Recommended if you like the style.

On tap at the Common Table’s 2nd anniversary party. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma has quite a bit of Belgian yeast, as well as some assorted peppery spices and some lighter malts. The flavor has some biscuit malt, as well as some pepper and coriander notes. The Belgian yeast also adds to the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thick off white head that’s very creamy, lasts a while and is surrounded by a thick lacing. The body is clear with a medium amber center.
Malts, burnt herbs and mild citrus fruit. Mild spices do come through.
Grapefruit, spices, mild apple and a mild tartness throughout and a mild clove in the aftertaste.
Light – medium bodied and full of carbonation.
Very refreshing, and very smooth, this, so far, is the best Rogness beer I’ve so far.

Quite malty and rich with nice bitterness as well. Attractive dark reddish amber in the pint shaker. Modest foam with a sparkling carbonation.

Lots of malty flavors, roasted grain, and fruity like a Saison. Lots of the yeasty, scratchy Belgian flavors. Big and rich, makes for a great mouthful of flavor, but a bigger beer than you'd expect to encounter for a Bière de Garde. Starts out sweet and evolves into that yeasy bitterness and dries out on the tongue. Really a tremendous flavorful beer that is well worth seeking out. Another interesting example of Americans doing interesting experiments with the Belgian classics.

On tap at the Westside Alehouse somewhere by the freeway in Round Rock, Texas.

Also had this one on tap at Common Table at their 2nd anniversary. Visually, it had a great amber color and a good amount of lacing. Good taste, a bit of spice, although it had a bit more alcohol taste than I would expect for a 6.2% beer.

Overall, a solid effort from an up and coming brewery, and a welcome addition to the format. Look forward to trying their other brews soon.
