Call and talk to Matt! Outstanding selection, knowledge and incredibly helpful. A friend of mine was visiting Estes Park, CO and asked if I wanted any beers from the area. I called Rambos and was given an hour of Matt's time to talk through his entire store selection. He cased up my choices and held it for a day until my friend could stop in and pick it up.

Outstanding selection of CO beers and choice selections from around the U.S. Additionally, monstrous collection of CO bourbons and whiskeys.

I can't wait to get back into Colorado with the Jeep, hit the trails and have a beer with Matt. Thank you!!!!

It's a good store but not stellar as some of the older reviews indicate. The store name no longer includes the Rambo name and the web site URL listed on the BA page no longer works. So I don't know if Matt Rambo is still affiliated with the store.

I was able to pick up an Avery Mary Ann's Pie Imperial BBA Stout (Toasted Coconut and Key Lime) bottled two years prior. There was no sign of any Russian River beer, and certainly no Pliny the Elder. I asked the clerk about it and she had no idea what I was talking about.

If you're a beer geek, a whiskey lover, or even a wine drinker and you're in town, you would be selling yourself short by not stopping in for a few minutes (or hours, up to you).

I've talked to Matt several times on the phone when fiends have gone to Estes Park on vacation. Finally got to go to the store. What a great guy. He treated me like a friend. Great selection of beer. Highly recommend.

Stopped into Rambo's a few days ago while my wife and I were visiting Estes Park. Holy crap, the selection of beer they have is amazing. They have everything from fresh IPA's, DIPA's, to barrel aged sours, stuff from Crux, Crooked Stave, to barrel aged stouts from Avery, Prairie...Bruery bottles, you name it! And all the prices were below what I expected. But to top it off, Matt really knows his beer and it was a pleasure to talk with him. He and his wife were super friendly. If you're in Estes, you HAVE to stop here!

Matt Rambo and family have a ridiculously good selection, and he's always looking for ways to improve it. He asks customers from outside Colorado (of which he has many) to bring in lesser-known beers from their hometowns , so that he can sample them and put them on the shelves . Or maybe he just really loves beer. Either way, he's exactly the kind of guy you want curating your beer. He's also super- friendly and knowledgeable. If you're headed to the area, it's worth waiting to buy your beer from Rambo's.

One of the best beer stores in Colorado, with a fantastic owner (Matt is awesome, knows his stuff, and is personable as hell), a great beer selection, and helpful, honest staff. A must visit to buy beer in the Estes Park area (seriously, they will have stuff Denver might not easily get).

After years of going to Estes Park on vacation and stopping in boulder to buy beer. I read a review on Rambo's and decided to give it a try. I was glad I did, went there twice in the week I was there and was treated like I was a regular who had been going there for years. It's just another reason why I should move to Estes Park. Great selection of craft beers and they helped me get Pliney off my bucket list. Thanks Matt and I'll see you next time with the NG

A lot of people say to bring your beer with you prior to getting to Estes Park. Not true.

Rambo's is THE beer store in Estes Park. I went in there twice and while the selection can't possibly beat Hazel's or the Boulder Liquor Mart, Rambo's has a fine selection of as much great quality craft beer you can drink during your stay. Even more so if you're from out of state and are not familiar with many of the local breweries. The first time I went in and asked for the best local IPA and they guy replied "Single, double or triple?" That answer is all I need to know that these guys know their beer. The second visit included a great conversation with Matt Rambo, who was not only a great guy, but highly knowledgeable and proud of his family store (as he should be). Not only was he willing and ready to sell me some sought after beers he had hidden away (I declined as I'd already had them and didn't want to deplete his stock), but I also discovered a relatively rare Crooked Stave beer that the Boulder stores had long sold out.

I stopped in yesterday on vacation from Ohio and as mentioned in reviews before, Matt was super helpful and kind. He obviously loves his beer and takes pride in his business. Selection was really good. I got a lot of stuff we don't get back home like Crooked Stave, Farm to Barrel from Almanac, and BOMB! (because of Ohio's stupid 12% law). If you're in the area I highly recommend checking it out and see if you think Matt has kind of a Sly thing going on too. If your last name is Rambo I think it would be hard not to! lol Thanks, Matt!

I don't know what store the reviewer below went to, but it wasn't the same store I just visited.

I'm on a month long road trip in this area, and was on the way to Cheyenne for the night. Unfortunately, I could only spend about 30 minutes in the store, but it felt like I had been a regular there for years. Matt was beyond outstanding! Before I had hardly started to pick out bottles, he was bringing me incredible beers from all over the store. I swear, it seemed like he had a portal in the back which led to beer nirvana.

I will definitely be headed back this way on my trip next year.

Good selection for the area, prices are above average compared to Boulder/Denver. Would not sell me the beer I wanted until I "bought hundreds of dollars in other craft beers first". Then I'd get the "opportunity" to buy the beer I wanted.

So if you are going to Estes stock up elsewhere.

This place was amazing. I was shocked by how large the selection was based on the size of the building. I really enjoyed how knowledgable the owners are and the great vibe they create. If theres anything special your looking for, make sure to talk with the owners because they do keep beers that they get limited quantities of in the back.

Awesome, knowledgeable staff. Went in there looking for Pliny the Elder and got the first bottle from the case they just got. I've been looking for this beer for a couple years and I am enjoying the hell out of it right now. Besides Pliny, they've got all sorts of things I can't get back home at all. Wish more places like this existed!

If you're from around here or just passing through, make sure to stop at Rambo's. I'll definitely be going back again before I head home.

Guys, SERIOUSLY!?!?

Vibe: Mom and Pop country shop from front to back. You're in the mountains man, what do you expect? I expect exactly that, anything else would have felt out of place.

Quality: Everything was fresh. You had your normal shelfies along with your "Oh my God, is that a mirage???" Beers.

Service: Personally greeted and shopped with Matt himself! Great knowledge, great stories and wonderful ability to connect to whatever type of beer drinker he has in front of him.

Selection: Look guys, I won't go into the details, let's just say I wasn't expecting to walk out with the huge haul of dogfish yellow caps and Avery hard to find that I did. As well, a few beers on the top 250 list (more like top 10!).

If you're in Estes Park, no if you're in Denver, hit this place up!!!!

I was up in Estes for the night, and needed some beer to keep me warm. There was 6 inches of snow expected on May 12th. We got that and plenty more by the next morning.

I used to live in Estes back in the late 90's and I wish this place was here when I was living here. The selection is unrivaled by anything within 40 minutes. There was plenty of stuff that caught my eye, things that are not available in FL, things I didn't know where beers that sat on shelves; things like Russian River, Alesmith Speedway Stout, Old Viscosity, etc. If I had brought another piece of luggage, I would have loaded up , but I was full as it was.

The guys working the floor were extremely nice and eager to help. The woman working the counter was nice as well, although a bit eccentric. This is the ONLY place to go in Estes, as far as I am concerned.

Prices were a bit high but everything in Estes is expensive.

I never really know what to say about atmosphere and quality for a bottle shop. Atmosphere I suppose can measure the set up of the store, maybe parking? However, the service and selection of this store were great! I spoke with John (that's right, his name is John Rambo) for quite awhile when I was browsing the store. He was very helpful with some of the local brews I hadn't tried yet and we shared stories of some great beers we'd both had recently. For selection, it wasn't the best bottle shop I'd ever been in, but considering it was in Estes Park, it was amazing. If you are in the area, I can't recommend this shop enough.

Had to check this place out while on vacation in Estes Park. The place has a mom and pop vibe to it which I like. Even better, it's a mom and pop store with some remarkable beer picks on the shelves. For it's size there are plenty of excellent finds from all the big and little canners and bottlers in Colorado. You can find many other great selections from other states as well inside the doors of this little gem. Decent selection of 6pks and a very nice selection of larger bottles. A guy setting up a tasting table for the Dry Dock rep greeted me and invited me to stick around for the tasting which was an hour away, but I didn't have time. He pointed out several good picks from Dry Dock, Telluride, Epic, Elevation, Funkwerks, Odell, Stone, Russian River, Deschutes, Twisted Pine, and others. I picked out some Dry Dock, Elevation, and Funkwerks. When he rang me up, I said I was going to Ft. Collins and he recommended I stop by Equinox because they make great brew, but don't bottle yet. I took his advice and it was worth the stop. Stop here if you're ever in Estes. It's a winner.

Of course they have a great selection of Colorado craft brews but what I didn't expect was some other world-class finds. The biggest names on that list are Russian River and Dogfish Head. Had a few quality selections from those breweries. They also had some other great craft beers from Boulevard, Maui, Deschuttes, etc. The staff was more than friendly and were willing to help in any way they could. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Estes Park or RMNP area that is looking for some quality beer.
