I got turned on to this place in the spring because of some friends who told me there’s a live conjunto band on Sundays … “and really, really, really good beer.” They knew I love love love 1.) conjunto and 2.) craft beer—so I knew they didn’t just mean some bottles of Mexican imports along with the usual BMCLonestar out here.
This place is a dive bar which features punk, country & western bands and a conjunto Sunday afternoons. They keep a great selection of local favorites from folks like Live Oak, Hops&Grain and (512) on tap, along with your standard bottle selection. Over a few visits I’ve had a (512) Pecan Porter & IPA, Live Oak Liberation and H&G ALTeration and all were $5. No cover.
I found this a cool spot to pass an afternoon listening to some great music. If this were in town I would definitely be a regular here. No food.
