Love this place. I went to Jane's for the first time at the end of 2012 and go back every couple of months. Great service and selection. I got my first AleSmith Speedway Stout at Jane's. When I couldn't get BallastPoint Victory at Sea or Stones DoubleBastard at BevMo, I went to Jane's. My wife says Jane is my new girlfriend...

The price is comparable to BevMo, but you will probably pay about a $1 more in some cases. Not a big deal to keep a store like this open. Plus, the service is great. Very knowledgeable and allow you to make your own 4-6 packs.

Went for the first time midweek, right when the store opened at noon.
As others have mentioned, the beer selection is somewhat small but expertly selected. A good selection of tough to find stuff.
Where I differ is the rest of my experience. The gentleman behind the counter was browsing his phone the whole time and didn't even look up to greet us. The whole store is painted pitch black, which combined with the small space makes it a bit claustrophobic.
They also don't update their social media sites nearly as often as other locals like Cask n Flask or Santa Clara Liquors. Maybe this is by design.

Great selection, they had a lot of rare bottles there. The guy that was working seems like he would talk beer with you all day. Parking is pretty bad and you could drive right pass without knowing its there.

Excellent store, probably my favorite establishment in Mountain View. I've spent plenty of time perusing Bobby's in Santa Clara, The Willows and K&L in Menlo Park. While all these stores hold similar inventory, Jane's excels in its customer service. I have yet to go into this store and leave without a good conversation. The staff really cares for their selection, and will recommend something you've never tried that fits your palate and budget. Overall, the Jane's experience is unbeatable. You can tell how much care goes into their limited, but well-rounded offerings- every beer has a place. The staff is highly educated in their product line, and offer candid insight into the local craft beer scene.

Jane's Beer Store is the first place I've ever visited that was just that: a beer store. No food, no liquor, no wine, just beer. Selection is good and well organized. Prices seem reasonable. I don't make it out here often since I'm so close to Bobby's Liquor and Santa Clara Liquors, but when I do, I'm never disappointed.

I can't believe I'm the first reviewer for this store.

I use Beer Advocate all the time to help me find the good beer stores, and this store wasn't reviewed yet so I assumed it wasn't anything special. I was wrong.

I found this place by searching online for my all time favorite stout - Aún Más a Jesús - and my search results took me to Jane's Beer Store, so I thought I'd give them a try and I'm glad I did.

Not only did they carry Aún Más a Jesús, but they had a huge selection of other Evil Twin beers, such as Imperial Biscotti Break, Lil' B, Wag N’ Wisdom Wit, and many others.

They also carried lots of other hard to find beers. This was the first place I've found that had Almanac Biere de Chocolat in stock. They also had Mikkeller Milk Stout, and a surprising number of other beers I haven't seen locally before. Not a whole lot from Russian River, but I know Russian River rarely if ever gives newer stores their Pliny and harder to find styles.

One very nice thing is that they carried a lot of 12oz sized beer in four and six packs in addition to the bomber size, which is the only size a lot of other beer stores carry. I was told I could break up any four pack if I wanted - NICE! I grabbed many beers in the smaller sized bottles which I had never tried before.

The atmosphere here was great. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the background music is very cool, but not too loud.

This is definitely one of the top beer stores around, and I recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already.
