Well after reading Loki's post in the South Antlantic forum I had to go check this one out, poured a deep brown with a nice slightly off white head that left a trace amount of lace.Aromas of smoke and clove with that Red Oak sour annoyance in there as well, taste at first seemed to be sour like Red Oak of old but it faded pretty quickly leaving some good dunkelweizen traits some cloves and smoke along with a touch of banana.I put this in the weizen bock category but it may be more of a standard dunkel wiezen. And for the sourness not nearly as bad as old and the standard Red Oak lager has no sourness,a new beginning at Red Oak?

The first thing I noticed about this beer is its aroma. The aroma smells a bit mediciney, like a cough syrup or mouthwash even. The beer poured a very dark brown with a nice head that stays for about two minutes and then becomes lacey. The taste is reminiscent of a black lager mixed with Coca Cola. It is an interesting taste but I enjoy the special and unique taste.
