This place is located next to Dogfish Head brewpub on Rehoboth Avenue, so you may wonder why one may want to stop in here. This bar has a typical Irish pub feel to it - lots of dark woods, a large bar area, and a decent sized dining area. Loads of beer signs adorn the bar area, and there is a nicely stock liquor shelf behind the bar. There is a large glass front refridgerator stocked with micros just off the bar, so I assume these can be bought to go, not just drink in house.
The interesting thing here is they have a nice happy hour, pouring some of the more standard DFH beers for $3 a pint. Not every beer is poured at happy hour price, so you need to check the list. The menu was quite good as they have seemed to improve the quality of beer offerings here. Racer 5, Raging Bitch, Stone's Runiation, IPA, and Arrogant Bastard, DFH's 60 Minute and Indian Brown, Yards Brawler and Love Stout, Victory Golden Monkey, and beers from 16 Mile, RJ Rockers, and a few other good ones. The beers during normal hours cost anywhere from $6 to $7.50.
We did not have any of the food during our stops here. Service was good during daytime hours, slower at night when more people were filling the bar area. There are times we walked into DFH to find a long wait for a table, and no where to sit at the bar. So this place being next door makes a good stop to enjoy a quality beer in a comfortable atmosphere without the crowds. Definitely worth a stop when vacationing in Rehoboth.
