12 oz can pilfered from my buddy JP

canned 111116

pour is heavily clouded orangy amber, ligting a oversized and ever lastin khaki cap, goes all frothy and merainge like. Leaves tons of assorted lacing. Nice looking beer

Soft fruity juicy nose with oranges and sweet pineapple

This is a tasty and quite enjoyable, clouded, fruity juicey good NE style IPA from Back East Brewery. Galaxy hops, citric, fruity, resiny...good stuff...go get some

L-very nice head and hazy orange color. all in all appealing look

S-as soon as you crack can you get immediate and pungent fresh hops. definite fruity profile. froot loops if that makes any sense. some floral notes, pineapple and blood orange with a slice of fresh dank if you get way back in there. lovely

T- hops rule the day here. tropical fruits with a nice backbone of light bitterness, ruby red grapefruit. there is a sweetness even to the hops that is really very nice. matls are light but balance this off very nicely. the finish has a lingering pithy smacking amount of bitterness that makes it moorish. another sip please asap. as it warmed i got citrus and lemon

F- perfect for what is going on here. light enough to give it really good drinkability/quaffability but full enough not to be like many session hop water beers of late. solid

O- This IPA really hits the mark. A nice version with NE IPA roots with some smooth light lingering bitterness as it finished. I will buy this one when I see it. Great beer. Well done Back East.

side note: love any hop from down under- in this one galaxy really shines.

On tap at Waxy’s Plainville. Beautiful clear dark straw color, white head. Bright citrusy nose with some tropical fruits but all aromas are subdued. Really had to struggle to pull those notes out. Taste is clean, mildly hoppy and lightly bitter in the end. Not a huge hoppy beer by any means. Not outstanding. Just a good easy drinking beer.
..May 2016 update. In can. Beer has improved dramatically! Hops are all there!

From the brewery - "Lupulinary is derived from the word lupulin, the active ingredient from our beloved hops which gives beer, and IPAs in particular, their wonderful juicy flavor and hoppy aroma. This IPA comes in at 5.4% ABV and has delicate notes of lemon, peach and melon in the nose. It is packed with dank flavors of citrus and tropical fruit. This beer finishes dry, clean, and resinous. It is brewed, whirl pooled, dry hopped, and dry hopped again with Australian Glaxy hops (as well as a few of our other favorites)."

Rich aromatics, packed with juicy hop presence and ends with a pleasantly bitter finish. I'd say this is the best beer I've had from them thus far. Much more enjoyable than their other notable double Palate Mallet in my opinion.

Growler poured into tulip. Dated 7/26/18.
Cloudy golden orange look. Light tropical nose. Taste is nice tropical taste up front and little hop grapefruit bite at end. Easy draw. Over all a very good IPA and easy to drink. Will by again.

Sampling a cellar temp can poured into a snifter. the beer pours a clear copper hue with some lazy streams of carbonation rising to the surface. A dense bleached white head of foam rises 3 cm even with a gentle pour.
The aroma is a bit of husky malt note and then a mix of citrus rind and fruity hops with just a bit of pine sap mixed in as well.
First sip reveals an average body with a slightly sticky texture that coats my palate after each sip.
Flavor is what was anticipated from the nose, with a bit of sweet grainy malt that rolls quickly to citrus hops with grapefruit and some tropical fruit notes. There are also pine sap that lingers with some astringency long after each swallow. I dont get any alcohol hints anywhere and find the beer to be very drinkable.
This is a solid IPA that I am enjoying and would recommend to folks that like hops.
