Formerly Blåbær
We combine fresh blueberries with our barrel-aged lambic-style ale to make pFriem Blåbær. Its aromas of ripe fruit, white pepper and tobacco lead to a bright, jammy flavor that finishes as tart and tangy as the berries themselves. 6 IBUs
MALT |Gambrinus Canadian Pilsner, Weyermann Wheat
HOPS | Aged Czech Saaz
YEAST | Brettanomyces, Lactic Bacterial Culture
WOOD | French Oak

Pours a deep pink with light head that dissipates to nothing fairly quickly. Nice effervescence and no lacing.
The aroma on this is spectacular. Mixed berries, wood, leather, fresh mud.
Taste is just as nice. Tart mixed berries, with dry woody notes. The leather is there. Maybe tobacco, but the label description may have swayed me there. The tartness is on point.
Light and bubbly. Refreshing, but substantial.
Excellent beer.
I’m really glad to have tried this. It might be tied with Tilquin Myrtille as the best blueberry sour I’ve enjoyed.

Pours a purplish red with low, wispy head.
Smell is tart and slightly earthy. Notes of blueberries, oak and some dry, white wine.
Taste is tart with mild acidity. Quite vinous with notes of blueberries, oak, vanilla and hints of funk and sandalwood. Dry finish.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice, laid back sour.

Thanks, Phil!
Slightly pink foam on top of a bright purple body. Aromas of ripe blueberry, a little woodsy, with a touch of white pepper and tobacco. Bright flavors of ripe fruit, blueberry pie; very jammy. Finishes tart, tangy with lots of berry flavor.

Beautiful pinky, purply, clear brew with fine-grained foam that lasts well in the Copper Kettle goblet. Unlike actual Belgian fruit lambics, this is more like an American Wild Ale with the vinegar dominating the fruit. However as it finally warms up, the blueberry aroma is quite distinct. Crisp initially followed by highly acidic mouthfeel.
Quite fruity with unmistakable under-ripe blueberries. Not much of a pleasure for all the teeth-on-edge acidity. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Garden Path Fermentation for an eye-watering $12.50.
