another tasty one from pfriem, as good as all their beer is, the hoppy stuff has never been the draw for me here, but i need to spend more time in that style space with them, this is excellent. pretty darn clear from the tap, golden hued, with an average but airy and lasting white head on top, active and bright looking. the nose here is hops and citrus together, lemon and grapefruit pop with more tropical notes, guava and even mango, although there is no perceptible sweetness here. citra hops seem obvious but thats not all, could be el dorado in here too with that melon thing, but when i taste it i get the zest a little ahead of the fruit part of the hops, lemon is clean and natural and seems to lighten this some, maybe a lime wrinkle too, but maybe just the way it plays with the hops, subtle green grape to this, and more hop bitterness than expected, grapefruit and orange character late, and just a little dry cereal from the barley in support, not all fruit and hops. clean ferment, enjoyable bitter snap at the end, nice and dry and lighter bodied with great carbonation so this refreshes hard. freshness is evident on this, the interplay between the citrus zest and the hops unfolds in waves, not all at once, so being a little patient with the pint as advised. summery and easy and tidy, definitely an all day long kind of brew!

Bottle from Safeway. Medium golden body, small, consistent creamy head. Aroma is bready malts with light hoppy notes. Taste is light vitrus notes backed by a solid biscuity malt bill, think pils. Subdued bitterness, slightly sticky.

Look: Slightly opaque orange in color with a fluffy white head that holds well as a pillow and slowly settles, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Lemon zest, orange zest, limes, grapefruit, tangerine, a little bready malt, and some honeydew melon
Taste: A blast of pureed citrus fruits come on fast and quickly build depth with notes of orange, grapefruit, lemon, and lime all in the mix. The slightly sweet bready malt comes through better than the aroma led on to and it is present throughout and closes with more citrus fruit notes
Mouthfeel: Full, fairly clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a fairly clean finish with very little bite and no dryness that I can pick up
Overall: I dig it. This is a tasty and unique spin on an IPA and one that utilizes the fruit zest addition in a way that amplifies the overall beer rather than steal the showcase as there is still plenty of hop flavor noticeable aside from what the zest brings. I wouldn’t expect anything different from these fine folks either

Pure liquid gold, slightly hazy. Froth for a head, fair retention, great lacing. Definite citrus aroma. A very tasty IPA we have here. A clean - not muddled or harsh - dose of citrus hops, boosted with the addition of zest. Highly recommended.

16.9oz bottle poured into 12oz tulip. Poured a lightly hazy (not murky or turbid) pale yellow color, with about a half-inch of white head that had good retention and lots of great lacing.
Light citrus was the lead aroma. soft, earthy grains in the background.
Nearly identical on the tongue, but with a bit of bitterness on the finish.
The body was on the dry side of medium for the style, and had a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was good, the beer went down quickly and easily.
Overall, not my favorite Pfriem beer, but a nice one nonetheless. Worth trying if you see it.
