Bottle dated 06 22 17 into a nonic pint.

L: vibrant golden with 2+ fingers medium density white head that had great retention and left spotted lacing.

S: Bright citrus and some bready/bisquity malt. Citrus clearly dominates, and figured the malt prominence was due to age.

T: Follows nose well, very crisp, finishes with slight bitterness that clears palate relatively quickly.

F: Lighter bodied, higher carbonation, somewhat slick on tongue.

O: Nice pale, that given the age had some attributes of a nice German pilsner. Would definitely grab again, especially if fresher.

500ml bottle into glass

Bright yellow golden color, crystal clear, foamy white head. Floral and fruity hop nose. Taste is crisp and bright, with thinner body. Light and easy drinking.

Clear golden yellow brew with a fine stack of suds in the Stella Artois goblet. Pleasing aroma of lime and summery hay. Light but not watery, tangy, and prickly on the tongue. Quite hoppy with a touch of peach followed by grapefruit and resins.

This is yet another elegant beer on the lighter side that pFriem excels at. Refreshing and flavorful. Rather bitter aftertaste after all the aromatics. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the Co-op Market in Mount Vernon, Wash.

500ml bottle

Pours a wonderful two finger white head into my willi glass. Very creamy looking. Body is a very light yellow, with a ridiculous amount of bubbles coming up. Clarity is very high, it’s pretty much completely see through. Overall it looks quite nice so far.

The nose is quite nice. Lemony citrus leads the way, with a little grapefruit, earthy dank hops are present underneath that. This is just a citrus bomb for the most part. It’s earing on too citrusy, but it’s not too much. Overall very nice.

The flavor is decent, not a whole lot going on though. Clean opening flavor, with a medium-low bitterness staying throughout the majority of the palate, finishing with a little citrus. The bitterness is more present than the citrus. I mean, it’s fine, nothing wrong with it – it’s a good summer lawnmower. Overall just not enough going on for me, a little boring.

Mouthfeel is ok, very light and clean. It’s a low carbonated beer, not flat though. I feel like a lot of my beers have been under carbonated lately, maybe it’s the time of the year? Unfortunately, the hops don’t give any bite, it’s really just the bitterness that I pick up on, which lingers for a second. Overall, it’s ok, but it could be better.

The drinkability is good, it’s a light beer that goes down without any problems.

Overall there just isn’t enough flavor here, and not enough complexity. I have a feeling I’m just not going to be a fan of these seasonal pale’s pFriem is doing, both have had the same problems.

The appearance turned out quite nice here. The head retention was above average, and there was a nice island of foam left behind the entire time. The lacing was thick from top to bottom.
