32 oz growler from Growl Movements in Salem OR. $ Belgian Strong Blond Pours a deep yellow colour with a large and rocky white head. Nice yeasty, banana, ginger and citrus aromas. Strong but not overwhelming. Tastes similar but balanced.more ginger and pepper.balanced by dutch apple pie. Nice mouth feel allows the flavors but still moves the product long..semi dry finish helps. Overall a nice simple Belgian ale

Poured from a 500 ML bottle. The label indicates this was bottled back in July.

The beer pours a somewhat hazy golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. There's a lot going on in the nose of this one, which is a presage of what's to come. The aroma profile consists of light honey, clove, light coriander, some cookie dough and underlying spice. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this fairly sweet, well crafted blonde ale. However, there's some citrus in the flavor profile as well, and the hoppy bitterness dries out the sweetness very nicely. The finish is pretty clean, and this is just excellent. Mouthfeel is medium bodied I guess; certainly the beer isn't heavy, cloying or hot on the palate. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, and without doubt this is one of the better domestic Belgian style blonde/golden ales I had in some time. Tasted blind, I would almost certainly have guessed this was made in Belgium.

Excellent effort. Really impressive.

A great (yet simple) Belgian style offering. Just the right amount of spice; great quaffability; true to the fact that it is meant to be a pale or 'blonde' brew - therefore somewhat tame and light. At 7.5 ABV it could easily get a little ahead of expectations.

Bottle purchased at Homebrew stuff... Mostly clear golden... white head rises up and doesn't stick around for too long.. Lightly spicy with a bit more pear/apple esters.. Light body for the ABV.. pretty drinkable... prickly carbonation.

On draught at Hall Street Grill, served in a shaker pint. Appearence is clear gold with a little white skim, very light, sticky lace.

Smell is sweet esters, bananas.

Taste is not too sweet, but estery, phenolic.

Mouthfeel is off-dry, light.

Drinkability is solid, clean but a bit simple.

I wasn't planning on stopping by, but while walking along the HR waterfront, I noticed Pfriem just there, and on my way back, I had to stop in to check them out.

Clear golden yellow, dense off white head with great retention and lace. Nose is really muted. Faint pear, floral notes, orange blossoms, minimal yeast. Pretty clean. It does open up nicely as it warms up. Palate is mildly spicy, with blend of clove and a little yeast. Fruit with citrus, a little honey, pear and a little alcohol. Medium light in body and moderately carbonated, this beer has a drying finish that's mildly spicy and mildly fruity. A touch husky astringency heightened by spice. Alcohol presence is mild. Nice.

Served in tulip. Poured a very slightly hazy golden yellow, with a bit over a half-inch of bright white head that had decent retention and good lacing.

The aroma was a nice blend f good grains, very gentle hops, a touch of alcohol, and that spicy Belgian yeast scent I love so much. The flavors followed along closely, the beer was a bit sweeter at first than in the nose, but the yeast, grains, and hops all solidly filled their roles. The taste didn't have as much of the yeasty spice as I would have liked, but YMMV.

The body was nicely smooth, just a bit fuller than medium, and had a slightly sweet finish. Drinkability was very good, if it wasn't $8 a tulip, I'd have several. Overall, a very good beer. A must try if you see it, and probably worth some effort to find.

Poured from 375mL bottle into a tulip. This is also marketed as "Belgian-Style Blonde Ale".

Appearance: light golden hue with a minimal dash of haze and a nice effervescence. Head pours several fingers of frothy white foam that dissipates slowly leaving a nice chunky lace on the glass. Quite attractive indeed.

Smell: lots of pear in the aroma, which I love. It's not overly complex, but it is a character I love in BSPAs and tripels.

Taste: restrained pear flavors along with a smooth malt that, again, is not complex but it is clear and smooth. I really like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a great big carbonation and big creaminess. Very good indeed.

Overall: here's where personal taste really comes into it: this beer really, really works for me. I am loving it.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a lightly hazy straw amber with gold tints and a thin white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bready malt with a hint of graininess, coriander, saison yeast, pear juice. Flavor follows aroma with bready malt, pear and apple juice, wheat, a hint of lemon, coriander and a Belgian yeast that borders on saison spiciness. Finishes with fruit juice and coriander, semi-dry. Medium bodied with light creaminess and good mouth feel. A nice take on a Belgian pale or blonde with classic fruit flavors and Belgian spicing. The yeast borders on a drier saison style, which actually fits with the mildly sweet fruit in this to balance it out. A little subdued in flavor, but that flavor is quite nice. Pleasant.

Pleasant wheat and yeasty aroma. Hazy golden color with plenty of white foam in the Affligem chalice. More on the tangy side with a malty taste. Just slightly sweet with some cereal flavor.

Quite a nice yeasty flavor, like a dry Saison. It's so drinkable and fluffy in the mouth. If only it was in cans at a reasonable price. From the 375 ml corked bottle purchased at a supermarket in Portland. Bottled on 04 08 15.

375mL (bottled 4/29/2015) into a tulip. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden w/ a nice fluffy white head, lively carbonation rising from the bottom.

Aroma is a blend of ripe banana, clove, and a slightly funky bready Belgian yeast strain.

Taste likewise has a hefeweizen-ish banana/clove character along with clean neutral pale malt and some spicy, bready yeast and floral, grassy hops.

Mouthfeel is soft, nicely carbonated with a semi-crisp finish.

Overall a solid Belgian pale. Not quite Duvel, but a worthy and well-constructed local option.
