Appears a dark reddish brown not a lot of carbonation
Smells of apple cider vinegar and some cherries
Tastes amazing with a bit of oakiness and slight vanilla with some apple cider vinegar and tart cherries on the end
Mouthfeel soft light carbonation almost juicy and thick for a sour beer.
Overall this is realluck good! I want to have more but my bottle is empty

Hazy deep orange/red body. Head dissipates quickly leaving a small off white ring around the glass.

Sparkly Frenchy wood, apple cider vinegar, vinous, cherry, caramel, strawberry.

Not super vinegar/acetic like thankfully. Slight sour and sweet, wood, vanilla, cherry, caramel. Mild carbonation and medium bodied.

Really disappointed with how the sparkling wine undercut this beer. Added a vinegar saltiness, an acidic wine theme and an unpleasant wood pulp on the finish of the smell, but not in taste. It looked great though! Feel was not as smooth nor drinkable, and the vibrant fruits of the original were covered in a shellac of wine. It's fine, but when the original is better, take a pass

It is more flowery, subtle and aromatic than the original SBC. And it bears real champagne flavors and character, even a final dryness.
Starts as a milder and more drinkable SBC, which is good, but at the end I miss the power of the original.

I either got a bad one, or this is a flawed beer. Starts off as a nice acetic sour with notes of soured red wine, moderate oak, sort of Flanders Red meets red wine barrel. But mid-sip a big varnishy nail polish remover acetone note takes over and dominates through the swallow and the after-taste. Also, this beer had no carbonation at all...I kept drinking it though because the front end was so good I was hoping the acetone would dissipate as it breathed. no such luck. But for the acetone, a very nice beer, but that's sort of like, "other than that, how'd you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

Matured in Frenchy Sparkling Wine Barrels.

From 09/26/14 notes. On tap at Gingerman in NYC, 2014 in French oak wine barrels version.

Pours a hazy, dark reddish color with no head or carbonation evident. Lots of vinegar, dark fruits, sour wine, oak, musty notes. Very sour, more vinegar in taste. Nose is awesome, sour fruits and wine, less vinegar.

Overall I liked this one although I wish the taste had a little less vinegar and more sour red wine and fruit like the nose. If you love super some vinegary beers or their other years' versions worth checking out, but might be too much for some. Smaller pour (4oz.) was good for this one IMO.
