La Meule, blond ale with sage, frankly bitter with a subtle bouquet.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like honey, sage, lemongrass, citrus, and stone fruit.

This has a vibrant and fragrant spice character to it, with sage, lemongrass, clove, and lemon rind, along with pear, peach, some light breadiness, and citrus.

This is light bodied, and finishes fairly dry, with a good drinkability to it.

Like most BFM beers, this is a little bit odd but still quite tasty.

If I were wanting a semi-dry to dry saison, La Meule would be close. IMHO, this should be re-classified as a saison.
But going with what the world is sometimes...

La Meule lacks really good Looks; more foam and swirling protein would make the saison argument stronger. Smells are mostly malt and the sage herb. Tastes start with the sweet, fruity malt but quickly the herbs come in and their interplay lasts through mid-palate; but then La Meule finishes nearly dry. An OK body, but the palate gets cleaned, despite not much bubbly action.

I've noticed two things about the 4 BFM Belgian-inspired ales I've had: they don't quite have a great house yeast; and, they are expensive relative to the quality of the real deal.

I had La Meule the first time because it was reviewed in the "1001 Beers To Taste Before You Die." I liked it. And the reviewer felt it was inspired by DuPont, (confirming my saison preferred classification.) But also, the BA ratings ranged so much I thought I'd have it again. And I'm glad I did.
