This one pours a chunky looking dark brown, with a very small head, and basically no lacing.

This smells like slight vinegar, dark and deep red wine, port, caramel, oak, vanilla, raisin, and black cherry.

This is incredibly complex, with a big sweet Bordeaux barrel character- oaky, vinous, and jammy. There's also red wine vinegar, caramel, lots of spicy and prickly oak, dark fruit, and dark cherry. The vinegar level leads to this be a little long lasting on the finshi.

This is medium bodied, fairly creamy, with a long lingering acidity on the finish.

The barrel here is the star of the beer- it adds a tremendous sweet fruitiness and a complex oak character. This is 100% well worth seeking out.

Draft pour, dark amber, slight head, decent lacing. Nose relays sour, vinous, funky must. Taste extreme lactic, wood, wine, cognac.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch off-white, slightly pink head over a slightly hazy amber body with some sticky lacing. Fantastic nose of grape, raisin, cherry, other dark fruit, and oak tannin. Flavors of grape, tart cherry, oak, and tannin. Very nice mouthfeel on this beauty and overall, the base beer is there, but the bordeaux barrel treatment does wonders. I wouldn't say it's better than the original but very different and just as good, which, to me, means another world class offering from Switzerland. Cheers!

-hazy rose-amber tap pour with a 1-mm foam ring. The aroma is acidic with raisin notes, but the flavor, while arrestingly strong is not overly bitter. This is sour, but with a distinct cherry-pit tone, more dried fruit and oak compliment the vinous flavors. This is indeed, very special. The high a.b.v is not noticeable.
