750ml bottle into a tulip

A: Pours a hazy, bright orange color with two fingers of head on a moderate pour. Decent retention and lacing.

S: Moderate lactic sourness with an earthy funk. The sourness pairs with the Saison funk pretty well. Quite fruity in nature - I get mangos and red wine. Quite complex and nicely balanced.

T: Quite acidic - the beer starts off with a nice lactic acidity with a moderate amount of funk. The two play off each other, the sourness being fairly clean and balanced by a nice Saison funk. Very fruity and juicy - spices take a bit of a back seat but I do get some peppercorn.

M: moderate thickness with perfect carbonation for the style.

O: A very interesting and flavorful Saison. Fruity, juicy, sour, funky - pretty much exactly what you'd expect and want from a BFM Saison.

On tap at Rustico in Alexandria. Served in a stange.

Pours a fairly-hazy golden-peach color with a thin, bubbly white head that feel somewhat quickly into a lasting thin collar atop the beer.

The nose started with some light stone fruits beside some light grain and straw. As it warmed, there was a bit of light spice and mild tropical fruit. Along with the slight acidity, the fruits gave off a bit of a kiwi and pineapple impression. Flavor was even better with the acidity picking up and really carrying the flavors through. Beautiful fruit and strong along with a touch of backing pepper and yeasty spice.

Body was light and crisp, really popping. It was incredibly difficult to put this one down. Ultra delicious and one of the best saisons that I've ever had.

On tap at the Draughthouse in Austin of all places.

The beer pours a somewhat cloudy, reddish amber color with decent head retention and light lacing. On the nose, there's some noticeable spice and light clove, but the bon chien barrels are really prominent, giving the beer something of a light tart, wine aroma. A slight funky, barnyard aroma only adds to the impressive complexity in this beer. The flavor profile replicated the nose pretty closely, and while there was a hint of tartness, it wasn't over the top. You definitely pick up some of the bon chien flavor in this beer, but as I'm a huge fan of bon chien, that didn't bother me in the least. Mouthfeel is fairly light in this beer, as one might expect from a saison with such (relatively) low abv. Drinkability is superb.

Just delightful. The $7 for an 8 ounce pour was a bit off putting, but otherwise, this was a real treat at the drafthouse.

Cloudy amber body topped with a very good head.
Funky and fruity aroma featuring orange.
Funky and fruity taste with, as expected, too much funk for my taste.

Boy this is an interesting beer. A quite different saison than most others imported into the US. It has a little floral aroma with a slight tart finish. Not overly carbonated, which allowed a lot of the other subtleties of this beer to come through. I tasted a little honey type flavor, with hints of amber and funk. Nice job by the Swiss.
