Simply the best. Beautiful color, great mouthfeel, excellent hoppy ale taste. Brings me back to the undergrad days.

MJ's 1999 "Guide" gave this 1.5 of 4 stars calling it a "summery flagship that is softly flowery , but less memorable."

From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles El Duque. In Ikea's pint glass. After dinner. Both sweet and bitter, with the typical english earthy bitterness a bit above the sweetness hiding the watery texture well. Very drinkable. Naty aspect though, without any foam

L: Golden amber, with a light haze. Half finger white head head reduces to a solid cap with open bubbles and rings of lacing.

S: Toasted malt. Brown bread. Understated. Would prefer more of it.

T: Caramel malts. Hay. English countryside.

F: Light to medium body. Light carbonation. Good level of bitterness. Sweet finish. Smooth.

O: The qualities of this beer improve considerably as it warms slightly. Highly drinkable. A pleasing English golden bitter in the traditional style.

Slightly hazy golden color with a few large bubbles. Aroma is malty with a bread crust note. Taste is also slightly malty at first but gets hoppy in the middle taste and continues towards the finish. Aftertaste lingers slightly bitter and dry. Body is medium with low carbonation. Overall it's quite enjoyable and easy to drink.
