750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Pale orange. Big white head. Fractal pattern of surface lace. Medium collar.

Smell - A light funk, some lemony citrus. Pale malt. White wine. And an intense acetic aroma.

Taste - Lemony. Some yeasty funk. White wine. A little herbal. Pale malt in the middle and then WHAM. Acetic sourness dominates. Really sour and intense.

Mouthfeel - Extremely sour and difficult to drink. Medium carbonation.

Overall - I really wanted to like this. Ale Apothecary usually puts out really nice stuff, but this is too sour.

A bit too sharp of a flavor up front and a touch of nail polish on the nose. A lot of potential here though. Some elements reminded me of a ramped up Parageusia1; brought into greater balance and refined this could be mind blowing.

Batch July '13

A - Pours a hazy medium orange with a fizzy white head that is gone fast.

S - Strong citrus, orange, lemon, some oak, funky - earthy and dirty socks.

T - Wine, funky, again more dirty socks, citrus fruit, oak.

D - Good carbonation with a light body.

O - Earthy and unique. Wine barrel influence is strong with some odd funkiness and some nice citrus. Truly a different experience with this one.
