The look is an opaque reddish-brown with a fair amount of head.

The smell is lemon and barley and rye malts. There's a small amount of dill pickle juice, but it doesn't really drag the whole thing down. In fact, it suggests it would compliment a Cuban sandwich nicely.

Taste is an intense sweet'n'sour. There's also an apple cider quality. Honeysuckle, too. Slight but detectable wood-and-grain. It seems to evolve quickly as it warms. There's some astringency, but it fades quickly. It also seems to transition to an amalgam of ciders, expanding to include pear and cherry, although apple is still the leader. Fresh plums. It's very rich all the way through.

The carbonation might be good for the head, but I'd prefer a little less in the feel. It's deceptively sugary, leaving a little too much film for me. Weight is medium, and aftertaste matches the flavors well.

750 mL bottle. Reddish murky body. Big white head. Smells of berries, red wine, and acidity. Tastes more of red wine. Some sweet maltiness. Musty and oaky. Sweet berry fruitiness. Sourness builds into the finish. Heavy and kinda boozy. It's one of the more straightforward Ale Apothecary beers, even though it's still a complex beer.
