Notes / Commercial Description:
Our flagship India Pale Lager showcases a copper color that gives way to a crisp, clean lager beer perfectly balanced in its massive complexity. Dry-hopped and aged on an in-house toasted blend of white and red oaks. The IPL finishes clean and smooth, with hop aromas of wild flowers and pine, and a unique maltiness highlighted by the subtle oak character.

Handsome sudsy dark amber in the New Belgium snifter. Honey flavor is surprisingly distinct. Sudsy mouthfeel with a malty body. A barky taste at the finish. I guess the "honey" is a flavor of the oak that is more often a big vanilla taste. Moderate bitterness with more aromatics in the nose. Toasted malt and shredded wheat.

A little "intense" for quaffing, but it's totally drinkable. Interesting way to brew a lager, with the oak added. However it really tastes like a good Pale Ale, and actually it's hoppier and tastier than a lot of IPAs I've had recently. So whatever you call it, this worth trying.

Pours a hazy caramel. Pours with some sediment in it. Smells way better than a normal lager. Drinks easy. Alcohol is present but not bitter. Overall a good beer. The bottle was maybe more attractive than the brew. I would drink it again though.

Wife's Review: "It is not as bitter as some, but it is still strong. I couldn't drink a whole glass."
