Appearance: Deep, dark amber body, with a large, persistent tan head. Lacing is quite dense and glass coating.
Aroma: Strong notes of raspberry, dark caramel, bitter cocoa, and faint hints of vanilla.
Taste: Dark caramel and raspberry vie harmoniously for supremacy. In the end, the dark caramel wins out, with trailing notes of dark bread. Finishes with a surprising notes of wood and vanilla.
Mouth feel: Very soft and full, quite pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: An over-the-top beer that would serve quite well as a dessert pairing.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

Got this as an "extra" during a trade. Had it in a small, 8-oz tulip glass, cool room temperature.
Appearance: Dark brown/fudge colored with a thick tan head; nice retention that dissipates into thin lacing
Smell: Raspberry jam, with chocolate and vanilla. Almost has hints of barrel (not bourbon) aging. Smells like dessert
Taste: Very fruit forward, a little too much for my liking. There is a tartness on the back end. Chocolate and vanilla too. It's dessert in a glass; almost too sweet. This is a beer best had in the evening after dinner while watching TV or a movie as opposed to just getting home from work.
Mouthfeel: It's thick, but I've had thicker. It's what a mild stout should feel like.
Overall: Could have been a little more balanced with the fruit; however, it is good. I'm not sure the cost (got it as an "extra" during a trade), but if I saw it for under $15 I might buy it again.

Appearance: Pours fudge colored with a thick tan head; nice retention with splotchy lacing
Smell: Tart and jammy raspberry tones dominate, with chocolate and vanilla underneath
Taste: Raspberry jam forward with some tartness building; underneath, the chocolate and vanilla tones barely eke through; after the swallow, the raspberry maintains its dominance
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: From the 2015 release, the raspberry was surprisingly powerful, leaving me to think of this more as a fruit beer than a fruited stout; needs more balance
Thanks, Domvan, for the opportunity

Nabbed a 4 pack in Austin, TX.
"Imperial milk stout." "Ale brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla with raspberries." 9.1% ABV. 1.091 OG. 56 IBU. 33 SRM. Bottled 01.04.18.
APPEARANCE: Opaque black body. Creamy khaki cap.
AROMA: Raspberry. Milk sugar. Malty sweetness. Whoppers. Fruit. Chocolate malt.
Average aromatic intensity. Suggests a dessert beer. ABV is well disguised.
TASTE: Sweetness is high, but not too high as to be cloying. Dark malts, chocolate malts, milk sugar, raspberry with an artificial bend. Somewhat shallow. More bitterness as from roasted barley or coffee additive would help lend this needed complexity and better balance.
TEXTURE: Silky smooth and soft, which is just what it needs. Wet. Fairly thick. Full-bodied. Well-carbonated. Unrefreshing.
OVERALL: A solid milk stout that brings artificial raspberry to a very good base beer. I can't say I get any genuine vanilla bean and I don't think the raspberry flavour is a game-changer in terms of improving upon regular Temptress, but Lakewood brews a mean milk stout anyway you slice it and this is another solid addition to their repertoire even if the raspberry could taste more genuine, the beer as a whole could do with more depth of flavour, and the vanilla could come through far more.

Pours a pitch black color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is mild. Lacing is good. Aroma is like rancid raspberry. Not good. Big raspberry taste. More tart. Like cough syrup. Tastes rancid as well. Drain pour.
