Poured on-tap into a glass at Craft & Growler in Dallas. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance: Deep dark brown, almost black but not quite. A coffee milk colored head but disappears quickly and was hardly substantive to begin with.

Smell: Typical Temptress roasty milk chocolate and coffee. Some cinnamon comes though, but not particularly strong.

Taste: Milky, bitter coffee and chocolate. Not much more chocolate than a normal bottle of Temptress has. Some cinnamon, but relatively faint. Chilies blend in with the alcohol burn on the finish, with a faint roasty, smoky quality from the chilies. With the cinnamon I was expecting a more Hunaphu like experience, but this is more like Bomb with a Temptress base. Not like that's a bad thing.

Mouthfeel: Not particularly thick, but a long, burning linger. Carb is prickly at first but fades quickly and the beer is quite smooth by the finish.

Overall: Another solid offering from Lakewood. I would have preferred a lot more cinnamon, but the beer was very good regardless. I'm looking forward to future Temptress variants!

Pretty damned good, I can definitely taste the spices. Still, I like French Quarter better.

Large shared bottle. Near moderate heat from the peppers despite little sign of them in the aroma.
Medium-full body and carbonation.
Lingering heat.
Sweet aroma with some maple syrup and cinnamon.

Pours black with a tan head. The nose is sweet, with touches of nutmeg, cinnamon and chocolate. The taste starts out slightly sweet, the spices follow next, along with chocolate and a touch of vanilla. There is nearly no heat to speak of. The lactose helps out the body a bit, but it's still not overly impressive. All-in-all, it's a good spiced stout, but the spice proportions seem off, and the lack of heat takes away from the overall experience.

Bottle shared by Umberto last night.

This one pours a fairly dark black, with what appears to be flakes of cinnamon floating in the beer. There's a small head, and not a whole lot of lacing.

This one smells like cinnamon, sweet cream, chili peppers, and chocolate.

I've never had the original Temptress, but this seems to be a nice adjunct-heavy variant on it. The chili peppers come through quite nicely, with lots of sweet chocolate, some sweet condensed milk and lactose, and a good amount of sweet and not too spicy cinnamon.

This has a very creamy mouthfeel, as expected, with a lower level of carbonation.

A really nice Mexican-style stout, certainly of my favorite styles lately.

Pours ok but head quickly disappears. Smells fabulous. Tastes incredible. Feel is a little thin, sort of like the pour being headless.
